To all whom it may concern iie it known that I, iVAL'rnR Mloi-innsni, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York. have invented certain new and useful improvements in Curtain and EShade t upports, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanving drawings.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in window fixtures and more part icularly to a curtain pole and shade support and the primary object of the invention is to provide a combined device of this character which, when applied to a window frame, will be particularly effective in carrying out the object for which the same is designed.

A further object of the invention resides inv providing a device in which the curtain pole support is adjustably carried on the shade supporting member and a still further object resides in providing means for the complete adjustment of the device with respectto the frame upon which the same is carried.

A further object of the invention resides in providing an improved keeper for adjustably securing the pole support on the shade supporting member.

Still another object of the invention resides in providing a device which is simple and durable in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and one which will be very efficient and useful in operation.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter referred to and more particularly pointed out in the specification and claims.

Fig. 4 is a section as seen on line M, Fig. 1; and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the keeper for securing the pole support to the shade support.

In describing my invention, I shall refer to the drawing in which similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which- 1 indicates a window frame to the side of which secured the main supporting bracket 2, said bracket having an ofi'set ifshaped portion 3 formed intermediate of its ends, which projects outwardly from the window frame. Formed on the base portion of this U-shaped offset and projecting farther outwardly, is a channel-shaped extension 4. in which is formed an opening 5. Slidably mounted in this channel-shaped extension 4;, is the longer arm of an L-shaped supporting bracket (3, said arm portion being slotted. as shown at 7. and extendingthrough this slot and through said opening 5, is a screw or bolt 8, with which is engaged a win nut or the like for retaining the bracket or arm 6 in any adjusted position with respect to the channel-shaped extension. This extension 6, it will be seen in the drawing, extends for the greater part of its length, outwardly from the side of the window frame and the shorter or angular end portion thereof, which is innermost with respect to the window frame, is suitably designed to receive one end of a shade roller. In view of the offset portion 3, and the extension 4-, it will be seen that this member 6 may be adjusted with respect to the side of the window frame according to the length of the shade roller. I have provided a curtain pole support for use in connect-ion with this device and, to this end, a right-angular bracket- 9 is provided, the arms of which are slotted, as shown at 10 and 11 respectively. The one arm is disposed in flat engagement with the face of the longer arm of the L-shaped bracket 6 and a bolt or screw 12 is disposed through the registering slots of this one arm of the bracket 9 and the bracket 6. A keeper 13 consisting of a plate having angular prongs or arms 14iat the corners thereof, is applied to the one arm of the bracket 9 to slidably retain the latter in place against the arm of the bracket 6. When the keeper 13 is properly applied, the arms 14: thereof rest on the upper and lower edges of the longer arm of the member 6 and the body portion of this keeper 13 is provided with an opening about centrally thereof, through which is disposed the aforesaid bolt or screw 12. A wing nut or the like may be engaged therewith to adjustably secure the parts in position and it will be seen through this medium that the bracket 9 may be raised or lowered with respect to the bracket 6 and held in any adjusted position with respect thereto. This bracket- 9 is so disposed with respect to the bracket 6 that the one arm of the former projects outwardly from the sash, this latter arm containing the slot 11 and the free end of this last mentioned arm is bent downwardly slightly as shown at 15. said downwardly bent portion being provided with a slot or opening 16. This opening or slot 16 forms a guide opening through which is disposed the shank of a curtain pole support 1'7. The shank of this support adjacent its free end is provided with an opening which alines with the slot 11 in the outwardly disposed arm of the angular bracket 9 and disposed through this slot 11 and the opening, is an additional bolt or screw 18, through the medium of which the curtain pole support proper may be adjustably retained in any position with respect to the bracket 9. Thus, it will be seen that the curtain pole support may be adjusted upwardly or downwardly or may be adjusted inwardly and outwardly with respect to the frame so as to accommodate poles of various sizes.

From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a curtain pole and shade support which is capable of adjustments in every direction desirable to accommodate shades and curtain poles of any desired size and also to permit the poles and shades to be applied to the frame at any desired points thereon. it will further be seen that the device is simple and durable in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and one which will be very ctlicient and useful in operation.

ll hile T have particularly described the elements best adapted to perform the functions set forth, it is obvious that various changes in form, proportion and in the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the principles of the inyention.

Having thus described this invention, what I claim is l. A device of the class described comprising a main supporting bracket, offset intermediate of its ends and having a channel-shaped extension formed on the offset portion thereof and disposed in the same direction as said offset, an angular shade supporting bracket having one arm thereof disposed in said channel-shaped extension and adjustably secured thereto, and an angular curtain supporting bracket adjustably secured to the last mentioned arm of the shade supporting bracket.

2. A device of the class described comprising a main supporting bracket adapted to be secured to a window frame and provided with a U-shaped offset intermediate of its ends, an integral channel-shaped extension formed on the base portion of the U-shaped oflset in said bracket and extending in the same direction as the latter, an Lshaped supporting bracket having the longer arm thereof slotted and received in said channel-shaped extension, means engaged with said last mentioned arm of the bracket and said extension to adjustably secure the former to the latter, and a curtain pole supporting bracket adjustably secured to said longer arm of the L-shaped supporting bracket.

3. ln a device of the class described, an angular shade supporting bracket, one arm of which is provided with longitudinal slot, an angular pole supporting bracket, one arm of which is also provided with a slot, said last mentioned arm being applied to the slotted arm of the first mentioned bracket, a keeper applied to the last mentioned arm of the pole supporting bracket and having portions thereof engaged with the upper and lower edges of the arm of the first mentioned bracket, and means disposed through the slots of the arms of the brackets, and engaged with said keeper to adjustably secure said bracket-s together.
