To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, RAYMOND G. Coornn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sugar Loaf, in the county of Orange and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Shade and Curtain Holders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. I

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in combined shade andcurtain holders and the primary objectof the invention is to provide an improved device of this character which may be quickly and readily applied to window frames without the use of nails and the like and which may be readily adjusted to fit any size window frame or any size of shade desired to. be used in connection therewith.

Still another object of the invention resides in providing a device formed of sections coupled one to the other and a still further object of the invention resides in providing a. device which is simple'and durable in construct1on, inexpensive to manufacture and one which will be very eflicient and useful in operation.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the. novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter referred to and more particularly pointed out in the specification and claim.

In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, Figure 1 is aT front elevation of a window frame showlng a combined curtain shade support constructed in accordance with my invention applied to use thereon.' Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the device, as seen'on line 22, Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a transverse section through the same as seen on line 3-3, Fig. 1.

These base pieces are usually provided with openings for nailing or screwing the same to the window frame but, in my improved device, these nail or screw open ings are omitted and, in their stead, the ends of the base pieces are provided. with flanges Which-are rolled to provide sleeve-like portions 9thereon. These sleeve-like portions receive therethroughthe arms of the substantially 'U-shaped members 2 and, in view of the particular construction, admit of the shade supports being adjusted on said members 2. These flanges which form the sleevelike portions 9 may be readily rolled about the arms of the members 2 in the application of the shade supports to use and, in applying the device to the window frame, the

same is secured flatly against the front face of the frame, at the top portion thereof, so as to cause the sleeve-like ortions 9 to fricame, thus' retaining said shade supports in their various adjusted positions on the device. From the above description of the construction of m improved device, the operation thereof Wlfl be readily understood and it will be seen that I have provided a combined curtain tie one which is simple and durable in construc-,

tion, inexpensive to manufactureand one which Will be very eflicient and useful in operation.

While I have particularly described the elements best adapted to perform thefunce tions set forth, it is obvious that various changes in form, proportion and in the minor details of construction may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the principles of the invention.

Having thus described this invention, What I claim is A combined Window shade and curtain connecting one to the other, the free extremities of the stems of each of the U-shaped members being bent to provide alining eyes and being pointed to afford a penetrating means, pole supports disposed through the alining eyes of the U-shaped members, and shade supports slidably engaged With the stems of the U-shaped members.
