'The primary object otI the invention is to prorid i a generally improved \.'rup dispensing pump ol this class ot' exeeedingly simple. rheap and etlirient eonstruetion. having its parts so arranged and disposed relative to eaeh other that the liahilit)v to disarrangeA ment or breakage of the parts is redured to a minimum.
A further objeet is to improve and simplify the eonstrurtion and arrangtm-.int ot the plunger merlianisni and means Al ir regulatinp and adjusting the stroke ot the plunger or pump whereby to regulate the amount ot litpiid lo be dispensed with earh working impulse ot the plunger or pump as d es i red.
With the above nnniioned and 4other end\l in view. the invention ronsists in the novel errnstruetion` arrangement. and` Combination o1" parts, hereinafter deseribed. illustrated in one o't its embodiments` in the aeoompairving drawings. and particularly pointed out in the appended Claims.
leit'erring to the tlrawines` forming a )art e h i ot this speeitieation. Figure l. a side eleration of a dispensing pump constructed in :'uieordanee with thisl in.e.ntion. Fig. i. a ventral vertical sectional view ot' the same. Fig, .5, a cross settional view taken on line 3-3 of YFig. 2. lfig. l. a Cross seotional view taken on line l-l ot' Fig. L.
Similar numerals of reterenee designate like parts throughout all the tigures oi the drawings.
The improved dispensing pump eomprises a statituiar)Y pump bod)Y l7 provided ai; itsl top with a plunger guide housing Q. and at its bottom with a measuring eup or syrup receptaele 3, the latter forming the measuring eliamher 3 'for measured quantities or' syrup to be disnensed. said measuring cham4 ber Communicating at one side with a diseharge ronduit l, the latter, in the present instaure. being formed by means of a conduit stem L'of the pump body Connecting the guide housing Q, and measuring enp 3.
The upper portion ot the pump is adapted to he eonnerted to the usual syrup jar or eontainer rover by means of a flanged cap .3. terminating in a discharge spout or bib Si", said eap being` provided with'a threaded opening taking over and threaded upon a threaded stem portion l, of the pump body, said threaded stem portion ll. extending through a suitable opening in the syrup jar or eontainer rover l. and forming a continuation otl the discharge conduit l, communicatiing with the interior of the diseharge spout 5% The plunger head' tl. is adapted to Coperate within the measuring cup 3. the syrup or liquid to be dispensed beingT adapted to pass into the meashring chamber 231. ot' the cup or syrup ret'eptaele through liquid or syrup inlet openings 3b. when the plunger head is in its elevati-tl position, as shown in the drawings. y
a means for operating the plunger head as well aa regulating the stroke ot the latter, said plunger head is t-,onneeted to a plunger stem tr. `said plunger stem elt'tending through the guide housing and being provided at its top with a threaded portion (3` eariying a regulating sleeve T, and a cooperating regulating handle or knob Si both the sleeve T and the knob 8, being threaded upon the threaded stem il, the knob S operating to lock the regulating sleeve 7. in an)7 desired adjusted position.` whereby the downward thrust or throw of the plunger' head (i, in the measuring chamber 2i, may be regulated to regulate the amount ot' liquid or s vrup dispensed from said measuring chamber with eaeh working impulse. of the pump handle or plunger stem. A guide stop 9, which guides the plunger stem and limits its upward movement is removably mounted in the lower end of the plunger housing' Q. said guide stop. in the present instance` being in the form ot' a bushing nut, threaded in the present instance. in a guide sleeve 2, within the guide housing. said guide sleeve 21, terminating at its top in a flanged portion 2b, taking over the marginal edges of a correspending opening in .the cap o, carrying the sire to secure by Letters Patent is,-
. l. In a dispensing apparatus, a pump body provided with a discharge conduit terminating in a threaded stem portion and having an offset head provided with a plunger guide opening, and a Cap having a discharge spout, the hase of the latter being threaded on said threaded stein portion and said Cap being provided with an opening in alinenient with said plunger guide opening.
