To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN T. PSARBKI, a subject of the Czar of Russia, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Guyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Centrifugal Driers, of which the following is a specification.
In utilizing dyeing machines generally and in some particu ar instances, the vat or cylindrical kettle is provided with a distributing member com rising a false bot tom and a central distrlbuter pro'ecting upward from the center of the fa se bottom and both of these parts are provided with discharge openings. The distributing member in the tank forms the mass of material to be dyed in an annulus and if the cover placed on the dyeing machine is provided with perforations near the periphery only, then the circulation of the dye liquor is such that the mass of wool, cotton, or other material dyed is forced outward and up- Ward toward the upper outer corner around the machine, and the material nearest this point tightly compacted and more so than the material toward the bottom and center, so that the greatest density is at this point and rendering greater resistance to the circulation of'air through the mass at such point. This invention, therefore, relates to im provements in devices termed whizzers which are otherwise known as centrifugal driers.
More specifically the invention contemplates the employment of a suitable-base having mounted thereon, in suitable swing ing supports, a casing in which is en ported a suitable motor having a vertica ly disposed shaft on the u per end of which is a basket having a soli bottom with acylindrical side wall provided with main charge perforations near its upper edge and smaller perforations througilzout the remain der of t e side. This has is is adapted to receive a false bottom, a central distributing member of a dyeing machine such as is set forth in my prior Patent No. 955,993 and in my prior application Ser. No. 546,414, filed February 28, 1910, and consists ofa false bottom and a substantially discy i al tral distributing member provided with a shank having an eye receivin a load hook for a suitab e hoist. Upon the basket is a cover having discharge openings near its peripher and an upwardly extending connection or receivin a hot air ipe leading from a suitable air eater not shown. This pipe passes into a suitable stufiing box in the connection. A further cover is provided upon the device and it consists of two halves bolted together'and secured to the periphery of the machine by suitable bolts. A suction pipe leads from a pump to the casing and serves as a means for exhausting the air. therefrom. It isalso part of the invention to provide the basket with blades around its periphery and upon its cover for causing the air to be thrown from the center of the device out through the perforated sides and into the casing from which. it is discharged through the exhaust pipe.
More specifically the invention relates to certain details of construction hereinafter set forth in the following description, drawings and claims.

Having described my invention I claim 1 1. In a centrifugal drier, a cylindrical casing, a motor mounted on the bottom of said casing, a basket driven by said motor and comprising a bottom and a perforated side wall, blades carried by sald wall, a cover for said basket having a central opening, a hot air pipe entering said opening, a stufling box carried by the cover and arranged about said hot-air pipe, a two-piece cover for said casing having an opening therein for receiving the stutfing box and for receiving the hot-air pipe, and means for exhausting the air from the lower part of said casing.
7. In a centrifugal drier, a casing, a motor, a basket for the material and comprising top and bottom members and an intervening side wall and having main discharge openings adjacent the junction of the side Wall and one of said top and bottom members only, means for supplying hot air to the material at a point opposed to the discharge, and suitable blades upon the outside of the side wall and upon the cover.
8. In a centrifugal drier, a casing, a motor, a basket for the material and comprising top and bottom members, one of which is provided with discharge perforations adjacent its periphery only, and a side wall having discharge perforations adjacent the other member having discharge perforations, means for supplying hot air to the material at a oint opposed to the dischar e, and suitable lades upon the outside of t e side wall and upon the cover.
