This invention relates to metal frames for doors, windows and the like. and aim to means for connecting such frames to the wall in a fireproofmanner.

7 Referring now to the form shown in these drawings, A indicates a door frame having sl'iect-uietal t-riu'u The trim ispreferably divided into two sections F and G and is connected to the wall as hereinafter described. A, Fig. 2 indicates a wall or partition of brick and plaster or other material. The dotted lines 1 and 2 (Fig. 2) are intended to indi ate a section of brick between such lines, and sections of plaster on each side thereof as at 3 and 4. Embedded or other wise secured in the wall A are metallic anchorbolts B of any suitable size and form. As shown, these bolts are oblong in form dotted lines, Fig. 3) and are provided with thread'edheads which project beyond the brick wall at eitl cr end to coact with nuts I), b. A'plurality of such anchor-bolts are preferably built into the wall at a plurality of points contiguous to the edge of the opening for the door.

As above stated, the portion g of the section G is bent to represent the door stop H. It is beneath this door stop that I show the two portions f and 9' connected togct hcrand to thedistance pieces.

Any, other point of connection may be selected, but I prefer to connect the two por tions and the distance pieces with a single fastener.

Having described my invention, what I claim is:

1. A frame for doors, windows andthe like, comprising a wall, sheet metal trim backward a predetermine each side of the wall, a securing device embedded in the 'wall, means for connecting the same rigidly at the sides of the wall to the trim, and me allic inner frames extending around each .forner of the edge of the wall and rigidly. .,ecured both to the aforesaid securing device and to the metal trim.

A frame for doors; windows and the like, comprising sheet metal trim, a metallic inner frame embracing the edges of the door opening, .brace bars therefor, and means for securin the trim to said innerframe and to the race bars. A frame for doors, windows and the like, comprising a wall, sheet metal trim, metallic anchor bolts embedded in the wall, an inner-frame embracing the corners formed by the junction of the sides and edge of the wall, brace bars connecting said anchor bolts and inner-frame, and ineans for securin 'the trim to the inner-frame at the edge 0 the doorway and tothe brace-bars at the sides thereof. 4. A frame for metal doors, windows and the like, comprising a wall composed of brick and a layer of plaster on each side thereof, anchor bolts projecting at each side of the brick only, asheet metal trim, brace bars at-each side of the wall each having an inwardly-bent central portion abutting against the brick of the wall and outwardlyextending end portions extending beyond the plaster, means for connecting the central portion rigidly to the anchor bolt and wall, and means for connecting the trim to said bars at both sides of said central portion.
