lhis invention has for its objectto provide a-lubricater-attachment to loose pulleys, whereby the bear` ings ofthe saine on the shafts will, at all times, be properly oiled,
The invention consists in arranging within the lubricator-cup a tube, and within said t-nhe a short lnovable valve, which has a groove or channel cut into n u l f us bearing-suriace. The valve ls thrown up and suitabe consti-notion. 1t is secured around a tubular shank, a, and surrounds a central tube, B, as shown.
The tube B extends from top to bottom ofthe cup, and is atits upper end screwed into the cap or cover b of the cup, so as to be closed by the saine, while its lower end is open, and in communication with the open shank a. t
The tube B is perforated to receive the oil from the cup, and transfer it to the shaf'tthrough the shank a..
A valve, C, is arranged within the tube B, and rests on the seat c provided iu the same, when the cup stands'in an upright position.
The lower end ofthe valve is provided'wth a groove,`d, that extends slightly upward to permit a slnall'qnantity oi' oil to pass down when the valve is on the seat. The cup revolves with the pnlley,'and
supplies the oil to the shaft whenever it is above the axle.. By being provided with the channel the valve permits the oil to reach the shaft at the proper time.
Having thus described uiy invention,
I clalnas new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The lubricator-cup, carrying the perforated tube B,
`alulprovided with a loose valve, C,'whieh has the groove or channel d, substantially as herein shown and dcscribed, to operate as speeitea'l. JOSEPH E. HENDRICK.
