SANITARY TOWEL-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 27, 1913.
Application led August' 28. 1812. Serial No. 717,414.
flic it known that l, .ToHN QUINCY Aunis, a'citizen of the United States, residing at ll'estmont. in the county of Camden, State of New .lors y, have invented a new and useful Sanitary Towelllolder, of which the follow ing is a specification.
illy invention Cous 'ts of a sanitary towel holder in which provision is madeifor presenting a fresh portion or surface of a towel the previously used or soiled portion whereof is returned autmnatioally into a receptacle or frame provided for the purpose, and so prevented from reuse, it being folded loose in said receptacle whereby it. may be readily removed therefrom.
rlheinrention is satisfactorily illustrated in the accompanying drawing, but the important instrumentalities thereof may be varied, and so it is to be understood that the invention is not. limited to the specifi(` ar-` rangement and organization shown'and described.
Figure 1 represents a front perspective View partially broken away of a sanitary `towel .holder embodying my invention. Fig.
2 represents a rear perspective view thereof, Fin'. 8 represents a. central Vert-ical trans- `verse section thereof.
'Similar numerals of reference indicate eorrespondineV parts in the figures.
Referring to the drawings 1 designates al cabinet within which is the frame, 2, the latter beingg connected with the former by the-hinges il respectively at the lower por-4 tions of said frame and cabin-et whereby saidframe may be swung' outwardly illustrated by dotted lines Fig'. 3, so that access may be had to the interior of both cabinet and frame.- The frame is composed of the sido pieces 4, the front.` piece 5, and bottom Vpiece or loor, 6, whiehare suitably eonneoted, thus rendering;r said frame hollow` forming; a receptacle the top aud back of which are open for purposes to be berein after stated.'v Mounted on the side pieces Ll is the roller on which ay towel is primarily wound orrolled and from whi'eh it may be unwouhd. lylounted also on said side pieces in front 'of the roller 7 are the friction rollers, 8, 9, and 10, whose journals or oudejeons freely occupy the open slots 1l. in the sido pieces 4. lThe journals or gudgeons of the roller 7 freely oeeupy the open slots l2 in' said side pieces 4,'it being,lr evident that owing to said Slots 11` and l2, the several rollers may be readily removed from and restored to position, it being' noticed that the rollers tl, 9 and l0 are primarily in Contaet, so that when the towel is to friction.. for purposes to `be hereinafter; explained. y
In order to lnmtothe outward motion of the frame 2 there is connected with the same 65 unwound passed forwardly therefrom between the rollers l0 and 9, through the passagre 15 which is formed of the friction roll- 8 and 9 in the frontv piece 5 of the frame, then dropped and raised forming the loop i6, and next, returned through said passage l5 into the frame and directed and suspended in said frame frmnthe roller 8 and deposited in folds loose on the floor 6 of the frame between the rollers S and 9.
lIt will be seen that when the frontinenr ber of the looped towel is drawn out, it 0perates the rollers 9 and 8, whereby the rear member of said towel is drawn inwardly by said rollers. Now said front member is the fresh or Clean portion of the towel, this hang-A ingr freely from near the top of the receptacle and so is easily raised and handled, and said rear member is the soiled portion Ithere' of, consequently the user ot the'towel may supply himself with a fresh portion of the 90 towel, While the portion previously used is Inovedout of the way and eventually landed `1n the frame' and folded loose on the bottom piece of the frame f-l, the use of the towel thus being;r cleanly `and sanitary in its nature.
when the towel is run oit' of the roller 7, the frame may be moved outwardly thus providing access to the interior of the ease atthe open back of said frame or receptacle to remore the soiled towel therefrom without requiring to unroll itand apply another fresh towel, which will be on vthe roller 7, or one similar thereto, and run betweeny the rollers Stand 10, out. through passage 15," back' through the latter forming another; loop ofthe towel and between the rollers 8 and 9 into the frame 4 as previously set forth, the severa-l rollers being convenient of access at the open top .of the reeeptaolell for removal. andre-applleation of the same.
Having thus described my invention what passed properly between 50 the rollers l0, 9 and S, the 'towel is subjected l I duim :15 mw :xml dcre i@ secure by L43',- cm lnlcnlg is iW In :l .szmlzujf lcm'il lmlfler, a, Cabine@ a Vin, pvoally counseled there with. .Suid frame being composed 0f a clos-ed from, sillas, uml a bottom., und a series 0f verlirnllyexwnding slots in sflifll sides, a plurality vf i'rcon yrullexs one below he uthex-.molmlecl on Sad sides freely in Cerlniu of Suid, .'slots7 L towel roller mounted on said sillas freely in other slos, Said slots being Open at lop, and a, @mange in lmfrm'xt 0f said. frame common fr ille Wlhrllawul and reujning-poytons of the tmvcl, Suid towel roller being rearward of said lrcmx 15 ollers, and said passage bcn; in T51-om wf said frcn rollen; above said bottom m. the frame.
