In the construction shown in Figs. 1, 2 195 and the bolts 1 securing the rail clip D and the tie plate B to the tie E need not necessarily be removed, the keeper C when removed releasing the rail A and the hook flange 6 being located with respect ,to the marginal edge of the adjacent rail flange 2 so as to permit removal of the rail. In the construction shown in Fig. 7 the. hook bolt l by which the rail A and tie plate B are fastened to the tie E is the same as in Figs. 1, 5 and (3, and the flanges on the bolt side of the tie plate web 5 are also the same as that shown -in Fig. 1. The oppositely projecting hook flanges 6, 6 on the opposite side of the tie plate web are constructed and arranged in the same manner as shown in Figs. 1, 1? and 3. and a keeper C is en'iployed in'this hook flange construction which is fornied as before described in connection with Figs. 1, 2 and 3, 7 and 8.

The-railztie construction with We T V tie plate and rail fastening desaihed and claimed herein is particularly adapted for use, is fully shown and described in my co pending application Serial No. 6645,7230, tiled Dec. 9, 1911, for railway track constructions, although the insulated tie plate and rail fastening covering the subject matter of this invention can be applied for use to various known metal tie constructions. The keepers may be'employed orn'ot as is desired, the nu1nber of securingbolts used in fastening the parts together may be changed, and other variations may be made.
I claim v 1. In a railway track construction, a tie plate comprising a web having integral oppositely extending'flanges on opposite marginal edges thereof, the flanges on one face of said web engaging the side edges of the tie to. prevent relative sidewise movement thereof, insulating means between the tie plate and insulation on the tie, said means being arranged to secure and holdtho track rail in place on the tie plate.

In a railway track construction, a tie plate comprising a web having integral parallel oppositely extending flanges on opposite marginal edges thereof, the flanges on one face of said web engaging the side edges of the tie to PI'GVEIlli relative sidewise movement thereof, the flanges on one marginal edge being bent .to form hooks, the hook flanges embracing the track rail and tie in securing the rail and tie'plate on the tie and means forsecuring the tie plate flanges in engagement with the tie. y 3.
