Be it known that I, NnLson BlNGHAM, citizen of the United States, residing at Erie. in the county of ,(ass and State of North Dakota, have invented certain newand useful Improvements in Detachable Surface-Packers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to surface packers,

and has for its object the production of a simple and eflicientsurface packer, and a detachable shield therefor, whereby the shield constitute a surface, and sub-surface packer.

Another object ofthis invention is the production of a simple and efficient packer casing or shield which may be quickly and efficiently secured to-the packer. lVith these and other objects in view, this invention consists of certain novel construc-' tions, combinations, and arrangements of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described 25 seen that the'ordinary disks 1 maybe employed, which have beveled outer faces, as indicated in- Figs-2 and 3, and between these -disks 1 are positioned sub-surface disks 2.
