The box comprises a body l, and a tight-Htting cover 2 which seats againstan annular@ rib 3 on the body. The lower edge Lt. of the cover is turned outwardly at right angles to the body, thus constituting an annular Harige that yoverhangjns the rib 3. A cam 5 has a depressed center 6 and is provided with two oppositely disposed wings.7, each the box below the rib This stud extends through the cam, and has a head so as to retain the cam in place upon the box. The stud and its head are so formed that the opener may be freely turned about the' stud as an axis.

The novel feature ot' the invention resides in the shape and location of a slot l() in the cam. The central-portion of this slot is straight while at each end of' the straight portion thereis a lateral recess or pocket. 11, these recesses extending in opposite directions from the central lineof the slot (Fig. t). v

lt is obviousthat theposition of the cam 5 is not Xed relatively to the stud 9, but that. it may be moved across the aXisof the latte-r within the limitations of the slot.

ln the normal position of the device,
