To all whom it may concern: 7

Be it known that I, JONATHAN LEWIS, of Washington, in the District of Columbia, have invented new' and useful Improvements in Cultivators; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and complete description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to theletters of reference thereon, making part of this specification, iii-which Figure l isa side View. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal vertical section; and Fig. 4- is afront view.

Like letters refer to like parts in the severalviews.

My invention consists in such an arrangeinent of parts that the machine may be used as a marker or cultivator, at pleasure, and so constructed and arranged as to be completely under the control of the operator, and to be readily changed from a marker to a straddlerow cultivator. A represents the two wheels of the machine. B represents the axles.

designed for the lateral adjustment of the beams G. This adjustment is effected by the withdrawal of the rod I and placing the beams in their desired position'and returning the rod again to .its place. When the machine is used simply as a marker, the inner beams, G, are
