This invention relates to an anti-septic device for use in connection with the'niouthpieces of telephones and other apparatuses and,devieesfand has for its primary purp'ose the provision of a sin1 ')le,'etficient and eeonomical disinfeetor for such uses.

The invention will be described in coir neetion with the accompanying drawing in whit-h one embodiment of the invention is illustrated, and the features of the invention will be described hereinafter and its nature pointed out more particularly inthe appended claims.

The holder 10 may be eonneoted to the mouth-piece m or its support in any suitable manner, as, for instanee, by (:onneeting it to the guard recently patented by me (patent numbered 15016,.063). The holder '10 shown provided with an external flange 16 at the end thereof next the user of the mouthpiece. and thp tube I is provided with a threiulml-pontion l7 spared from said llange 16. the forming a groove 18 between said flange 1t and said threaded portion 17.

The carrier shown consists of a flat metal ring 19, which is internally serevv-threaded at 20 to engage with the threaded portion 17 and to enter the groove 143' on lea vi 11g said threaded portion in one direction, said ring or annulus It) being preferably of a thickness somewhat less than the width of the groove 18. In order to prevent rattling and also-to retain the holder 10 and the carrier 19 in desired relationship with each other, suitable springmeans may be, and preferably are, employed to press the ring against the elevated or projeeting portion 17, and such s 'iring-lneans may be'tormed integrally with the ring it) by eutting and bending outward one or more tongues 21 at the inner side or edge of the annulus (the inner edge being preferred to the outer edge for such spririg-tongues), whieb tongue or tongues exert pressure against, the flange when the ring 19 is serewed on until it is free from the threads of l? exrept for side pressure thereagainst, or even before the ring 19 is disengaged from said threads 17. \Vhat I claim is:

1. Au anti-sqvtie holder oonsisting of a tubular body provided with a groove at one end thereof and with a flange at the other v end thereof and with an elevated portion spat-ed from said flange and having passage way theretln-ough, in combination with an annular (carrier provided with a projeetil'ig part adapted to go through said Way and to enter said spagetl part or groove to portion spaced apart from said flange to form a groove and having passageway therethrough, of a ring provided wlth 1n- 'ternul pro evtion for passing through said Way into said groove to permit of relative rotation of said holder and earrieu and an anti-septie container carried by said body.

3. The combination with a tubular body provided witha flange and with an elevated portion adjacent to said flange but separat-ed therefrom by a groove and having passageway therethrough, of a ring provided with a projecting part adapted to go through said way and enter said groove to permit of the ready relative rotation of said body and ring, and spring-means pressing said ring away from said flange.
