The gate isprovided with'a spring latch, `S, tlie @ver the' pulley, and which keeps it comparatively end of which fits into :n groove, d, in the side of the front post T, and the latch muy be withdrawn by ai vertical pivoted arm, U, so as to be convenient for horsemen by grasping the upper end of said arm, which extends through the top board for that purpose. i
