While my inventiontis shown and del scribed used in connection with an apparatus in which material is drawn from a source of supply by the suction action created by the rapid discharge of air ast the end of the nozzle 6, it is also adaptedj for use in the spraying of powdered or granular substances the nature of which would not permit the practical drawing thereof through the nozzle t3, barrel bore 2, etc., by suction, but which must be forced therethrough by some suitable means for such purpose, the discharging of the fluid` in such case around the discharge end of the 'nozzle 6 serving only to pick u and ca Loaa'aee not limited to any specific construction or arrangement of the parts except in so far as such limitations vare specified in the claims.
Having thus described my invention, what- I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. In an instrinnent of the'class described, a spray head having an elongated bore with liquid and fluid nozzles at one end thereof, a handle projecting laterally 'from the spray head adjacent to the other endthereof, a

An air brush having an elongated spray head provided with a passage therethrough and having one end provided with concentric liquid and air nozzles, said spray head also. having'a liquid inlet npple projecting downwardly therefrom a jacent to .its discharge end and having an enlargementori its upper side in opposition tosaid nipple, said enlargement forming an airvalve chamber, which chamber isin .communication with the air nozzle, a valve mounted in said chamber and normally acting to close said communication and having a stem projecting forwardly therefrom without the enlargement, a handle project- Ying laterally from the spray head adjacent to its rear end, said handle having a part Vprojecting upwardly and forwardly there- Jfrom over a spray head, a plunger mounted in said spray head for controlling the liquid discharge orifice, a trigger pivoted above the spray head to said handle part and projecting below the spray head in advance of the handle, a bar connecting'said trigger and plunger to impart opening movements to the plunger when the trigger is pulled toward the handle and a bar pivoted to the trigger above said first har and having its' forward end angled in advance of said enlargement and socketed toreceive the iorward end' of said Valve stem to impart opening movements thereto when the trigger is pulled.
