With the above and'other objects inview, the invention resides in a. novely construc-- tion, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter specifically described and then claimed, and reference will now be had to the drawing, wherein v Figure 1 is a perspective view of the machine. The flat suction head 31 is circular in plan and is supported directly beneath the brush 23. Arranged lupon the tube 28, below the collar 29, is a sleeve 32 and encircling the tube 28, between the lower end of the sleeve 32 and the guide 27 is a coiled compression `spring 33 that yieldably supports the tube 28, the pipe 30 and the `suction head.31 thereof.. Assuming that the machine is in operation, the fiat suction headl can be lowered whereby a piece of. cloth can be placed over the head and by allowing the head 31 to assume this normal position, the

piece of cloth is held against the bristle of the brush 23 and as-the cloth is agitated by the brush, the dirt and foreign matter is sucked or drawn into the head 31, from where it passes through the pipe 30, tube 28, 6, hollow pedestal 15, angle port 22, spout 21, casing -18 into the discharge chute 20. The discharge chute 20 can be in the form of a bag for collecting the filth and foreign matter removed from fthe piece of fabric that contacts with the brush 23. The cloth or fabric canbe easily -moved over the suction head, whereby it can .be expeditiously cleaned.

It isv thought that the operation and utility of the cleaning :machine will be .apparent without further description, and while lin the drawing, there is illustrated a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that t-he structural elements are susceptible'to such variations and modificationslas fall within the scope of the ap\ pended claims.
