e or other direction, tends l or depress it. so that These motors or their controlling mechanism will be operated by electrical accumulators or batteries. held or carried in a suitable part of the vessel. Th actions of these motors are governed by wave actuated electrical appliances on the vessel. These will comprise receiver bars or the like connected with terminals. which have in connection with them a coherer which is decohered by a suitable eleetro-inagnet. in connection with the circuit and one of the cohercr terminals, there will be a battery and a relay, and these are so arranged that when a wave is transmitted from the transmitting instrument, such as is produced by a suitable oscillator, the relay through the coherer will be actuatcd, and this will close a local circuit connected with an electro-inagnet which operates a current controller for governing the various circuits of the motors and other appliances on the vessel. This circuit opening and closing device will have a plurality of sets of tappets or projecting contacts which operate in connection with other contact-s constituting the terminals of the circuits of the different motors. and these several sets of contacts will be mounted on a barrel circularly and longitudinally, the terminals referred to being arranged alone say either side of the barrel. Then if this barrel be rotated from one position to an0t-her,-it Will be putin and out certain circuits; the various pins or contacts on the barrel being electrically connected up. and so arranged, that this can take place. and that the currents can lee-transmitted in one or other direction, so as to drive the motors in one direction or the other. and to put out certain of the motors. and put; in action another or others. or other appliances. The actuating oi this cylinder may be effected by a lever actuated by the electro-magnet referred to. which is energized by the relay local circuit when the coherer is in action; and this magnet. attcr thus actuating; the le-' ver and the barrel or cylinder, will move a part into contact with thepart connected with a coherer or decohering electro-magnet, so that when the circuit of this decolicring magnet is thus closed. the electromagnet' actuatcs a hammer which strikes the cohcrer. so that the primary circuit. is then opened. The coherer circuitis broken by disturbing the particles within the coherer; and such disturbing of these particles is effected by means ot' the hammer 33, which is controlled by the decohering magnet 34:, connected with the main local battery and this is brought into circuit when the magnet 27 (controlling thelever which actu ates the drum 19) is energized through the contacts 35. The devices for transmitting the electrical or Hertzian wave currents to the machine may be of any lmown forms; although that type of apparatus provided with long thin wave transmitting rods or arms is preferred. In use, the, electrical wave actions e-are transmitted from the transmitting apparatus to the coherer on the aerial machine; and on each wave transmission, the coherer is energized and its circuit completed; whereupon the relay switch is actuated and the main local. circuit is closed, and the magnet, which serves to actuate the drum moving lever, is energized and eitects a predetermined and partial rotation of the selector drum; while following the energizing ot the magnet, which moves the actuating lever of the selector drum, the decohering magnet is ener ized, and the hammer disturbs the parling motor 11, is completed.

The circuit closed by the switch 31 comprises the leads from such switch 31 to the coils of the magnet- 27, and the leads pass thence to the battery 15, the opposite end of this battery be ing connected direct to the. switch 31 by the leads as shown. i hen the coils of the net 27 are energized, the switch 35 is closed? and thus this switch 35 is closed at the same time as the switch 31, and the switch 35 enables the decohering magnet to be brought into circuit also, the circuit of this decoherv ing magnet 34 extending fronrthe coils of such magnet to the negative side of the battery 15 and from the positive side of such battery to the coil of the magnet 27, through the switch 35 to the make and break contact of the magnet 34. 1
