To all whom 112} may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES WAGNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Junction-Box Covers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to improvements in insulated junction-box covers and bracket connections for electric wall lights.
Its object is to make easy the installation of wall brackets so that a bracket of any kind may be readily and easily attached by adjustable devices whatever the angle at which the junction-box may have been installed. By my invention the common insulating joint is dispensed with and there is no necessity, even in applying a narrow or unique back plate, to fill in the hole behind the plate as is necessary in ordinarily placing such construction.

In the drawings, 10 represents a wall and 11 a bracket to be secured thereto, which carries a connecting threaded pin '12 projecting from the inner Wall of the bracket.

16 and 17 are smaller and flexible conduits for the electric Wires 18, two sets being shown 'in this instance leading to the two lamp arms 19 and 20, shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.
Bent plates '21 are secured between the face-plate 22 of the-junction-box andplates 23 by bolts 24, there being suitable mica insulation, as indicated at 25.
At 26 is indicated an insulating division, preferably of mica, between the bracket and the Wall, the space 27 being filled by the plaster of the wall.
The distinctive feature of each of the plates 21 is especially indicated in the detail, Fig. 5, in. the slot 28 which has two pockets E29 and 30 lying in different planes, for purposes hereinafter designated.
On the threaded end of the connecting pin 12 is screwed a nut 31 which is held, in position by means of a set screw 32. On each side of the nut is a catch-pin 33 adapted to pass into the slot 28 and rest iii either one o1 the depressions or pockets, depending upon the position in which the face-plate is placed. In one position the pocket is farther back than when the face-plate is in the other position, and thus there is provided a slight :uljustnient depending upon the thickness of the wall to which it is applied.
The opening in the face plate a narrow opening in which part is cut. out and the other .parts slit and turned back to leave projecting lips 34, about which the plaster forming a part of the wall will be placed and'against which will lie the insulating backing 26.
In putting the bracket in place it is necessary to first decide upon what'position the plate shall have, that is which of the pockets shall receive the pins, and then having ad'- justed the nut 31, to push in the connecting pin 12 and the nut31 so that the projecting catch-pins 33 pass into the slot 28 drop into I either the depression 29 or 30 as the case may be. Thusby simply inserting and pushing down the bracket it is securely placed, and may be readily removed.
My device may be applied to any junction-bor now in use.
I claim 1. In a junction-box, the combination with a cover, of reversible plates in the j uncti0n-box and having securing devices in difterentplanes, and a pin projecting inward from the cover and having adjustal'ile means for engaging the securing devices.
4 2. In a junction-box, the combinationwith a cover, of a pair of opposing, slotted,
reversible plates, the slots having recesses in. different planes, and a pin pro ecting 1nward from the cover and having adjustable catch-pins for engaging the. corresponding recesses in the slots of the reversibleplates.
3. In a junction-box, the combination with a cover, of a connecting, threaded pin, a nut borne by the pin,.catch-pins on the nut, and means lying in difierent planes for plates having recesses in different planes to engaging the pins. I receive the catch-pins.
