Be it known that I, JOHN N. MACDONALD,
useful Improvements in Chain-Repair Tools,
of which the following is a specification.
This invent-ion relates to chain repair e "tools and particularly to an improvement in tools for opening and closing the end hooks of the cross chains of an automobile tire chain and the like.
My present invention involves certain new improvements inthe construction of the bills of the wedging; members, and further of the'construction of the closing members by which the parallel hooks may be maintained parallel preventing overlapping and distortion.
Various other features of construction are also included which will be more fully de-' principles involved in'my invent-ion.
Throughout specification and drawing like reference numerals are'employed to indicate corresponding parts. and in the drawmgs.
Figure 1 is a side view of a tool embody ing my invention, Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same, Fig. 3 is an end view showing the overlapping bills. Fig. I is an enlarged detail of the head showing the action of bills in opening a hook. and Fig. 5 is a detail showing the action in closing.
