Be it knownthat l, Hummus I linmcn. a resident of Beaver Falls. in the rountv of Beaver and State of Pennsylvania. have invented a new and useful linprrniement in Reeling Devices, of whit-h the following is a specification.
This invention relates to apparatus for cross rolling or reeling tubes.
The object of the invention is to provide means for entirely withdrawing the tube. from the reeler at the eompletion ot the reeling operation to avoid delay in operation.

frequentlyhappens that the rear end oi. the tube remains in the reeler ju t lar enough so that when the mandrel bar is withdrawn the tube remains and has to be drawn out separately by hand. This is due tothe fact that the tube falling down and resting in the trough or guide lltttlS with greater-frictional resistanee than the triotion between the tube and mandrel. so that instead of pulling bark with the mandrel barit remains in its position as it. lelt the bite of the rolls.
The purpose of the present invention is to overcome this defect. Generally stated, it consists in providing antifriction. means, preterablv a roller, adapted to lift a tube and hold the same above the trough or guide and'permit the tube to move rearwardlywhen the mandrel bar is Withdrawn to simultaneously draw the tube'and mandrel entirely (dear ot' the reeler.

Normally the parts are in the position shown in Fig. l. with the roller El in' its depressed posit on. As soon as the lube leaves the reeler rolls and before the mandrel bar the roller 9. The friction of the mandrel within the tube being greater than that of the roller it follows that when the mandrel bar drawn rearwardly the tube moves with the same and is therefore drmvn entirely clear of the reeler to the position shown in Fig. Here its end strikes the stop 21, which also serves as a guide and support for the mandrel, and upon further movement of the mandrel the tube is stripped therefrom.
The hand lever 20 may be placed in any suitable position where the operator (an easily reaeh the same-to liftthe roller H. Various changes in the form and'arrangement of the parts will readily suggest themselves.
What I claim is 1. In reeling mechanism. the combination with the reeler and mandrel bar ('(lii!)ll'.'lling therewith, of a guide frame or trough. and antifriction means mounted for up ward movement and normally supported below said guide frame or trough and adapted to he moved upwardly to contact with the reeled tube when the mandrel is being withdrawn.
2. In reeling mechanism, the communion with the reeler and mandrel bar cooperating therewith. of a guide frame or rough for supporting the tu e. a roller mount d for upward movement and noruaxltv ported below ..i guide frame or and means for moving the same u; to contact with the tube when thr l is about to be witln'lrau'n.
