To all who'm it may concern:

, Be it known that I, JOHN G. PAqrroN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of have invented a new and useful Envelop and Advertising Device, of which the following is a specification.

My present invention consists of a novel construction of an envelop and advertising device which is especially adapted tobe employed for mail order purposes and is constructed in such a manner that a portion thereof serves as a return envelop which may be sealed in the same manner as an ordinary envelop;

It further consists pf a novel,construction of an envelop and advertising device wherein one face of the envelop is designed wholly for advertising matter, while the other face of the envelop is provided with apertures whereby the tab sections nTay be interlocked therewith, such tab sections being constructed in such a'mannerf that they may be detached or torn oif, and the envelop portion remaining is adapted to. be sealed and returned to the original writer.

Itfurther consists of a novel construction of an envelop wherein the envelop portion is provided with an elongated tab forming, when folded, sections of substantiallyuniform dimensions, and one of the sections the section nearestthe envelop, having a weakened portion andiadhesive material in proximity to the weakened portion, whereby when-the desired portion of the tab section is detached, a return envelop is provided which My. invention further consists of a novel construction of an envelop and advertising. device which may be mailed as second class matter, and wherein a return envelop is formed when a desired portion of the tab is removed, such envelop being adapted to be sealed so that the sal nemay be transmitted through the mails as first class matter.

Referring to the drawings, in one of my rior Patents No. 958,166, granted to me 'May 17 1910,'I have described and broadly claimed a novel structure of an envelop and advertising device in tab sections are formed which are adapted to interlock with one or more apertures located in one side of the envelop and my present invention while embodying some o the features of-my prior patent to which I have herein above referred, enables me to utilize the envelop as a return envelop.-

In my prior Patent No. 954,336, patented April 5, 1910, I have described and broadly claimed a novel construction of a theater ticket envelop and advertising device which is formed from an integral blank of material and provided with an elongated flap adapted tofreceive the diagram of a theater, steamer, railroad car orany other advertising matter. My present construction while it is adapted to be employed for such purposes,-

After the envelop has been addressed the sections 6, 7 and 8 are folded, as indicated in Figs. 1, 2 and 4, thereby covering the re turn address and the ends of the sections 6 and 7 will extend into the slits or apertures 5, as seen, in Fig. 1, so that the device may be mailed as second class matter and at the same time it will be securely sealed so that there will be no likelihood of the same becoming accidentally opened during transit. It will be apparent that the location and nature of the slits 5 may be varied as desired and also the length of the tab section as e size of the envelop.

An envelop and advertising device, consisting of a blank of material separated into a plurality of envelop and tab sections, one envelop section being secured to an adjoining section, whereby a complete envelop is formed, one side of said envelop being provided with an aperture with which the tab sections interlock when folded to form the flap of the primary envelop for the sender, the tab section nearest said envelop having a weakened lien and a strip of adhesive in proximity to said line, whereby when the tab sections are separated along the weakened line, a return envelop is formed for the sendee mailable as first or second class matter, and the portion left of said tab forming the flap of the return envelop.
