The present improvement consists in proriding the magazine feed mechanism withastop which prevents the action of the weftreplenishmg mechanism when the feed mech anism is inoperative with respect to the magazine, as shown in Fig. 2 For this purpose the feed pawl 19, is provided with a downwardly extending projection E, which constitutes the Weftereplenishing feed mechv'anism stop. This stop E, extends into the proximity of an abutment G, on the spring,-` lifted fecd dog B. j .l/Vhen the feed mechanism is in the position shown' in Fig. 1, vthe stop E, -occupies an uplift-ed position, as shown in Fig. 1, where it does not interfere with the elevation of the transferrer dog B,
into transferring position.` Fig, 1,.shows the transferrer dog B, uplifted into position where it is in the path cf the lay bunter C and, as there shown, the location of the stop E, is such that it does not interfere with the necessaryl replenishing movementl of the .transferrer dog B.' In case, however, the feed mechanism is swung forwardly into inoperative position, shown in Fig. 2, the stop E, is lowered and it is then in the path of the abutment G,'on the transferrer dogB, and accordingly preventsy an elevation thereof into the path of the lay bunter C,`so that no movement' can be transmitted to the transfer-rer 7, and consequently vno damageA can' occur. Fig. 2, shows in dotted lilies the position which the dog B, would have to occupy in order that the transferrer'i, might be moved. Fig. 2, shows the leading weftcarrier 5, on the magazine occupying an improper position may be the case when the magazine is being refilled) and -it is obvious that if the transferrer should then descend it could not transfer said leading weftearrier and some part of the mechanism would have to give way.
The length of the' stop E, and its relation to the abutment Gr, on the transferrer dog are such that any outward movement of lthe feeding mechanism sufficiently far to free the feed pawl 19, from the ratchet Vprevents the elevation ofthe spring-lifted transferrer dog B, to its transferring position in the path of the lay bunter C. Likewise, the restoration of the feeding mechanisni to operative position sufficiently to leave the transferrer dog B, free to move into t-ransfer-ring position, results in the-movement of the rotary magazine to correct' position, so that no weft-carrier can be improperly positioned with respect to the transferrer.
l claim- 1. An automatic weft-replenishing loomhaving, in combination, a rotary magazine for spare weft-carriers; feed mechanism for -said magazine, comprising a' hand-movable detent and a feed pawl; a transferrer for transferring weft-carriers from said magazine into weaving position `a spring-u lifted transferrer dog mounted on said trans errer; and' a stop on said feed pawl, saidstop being normally out of the path of said dog but being moved into position to obstruct the lift of said dog whenever the feed mechanism -is inoperatively positioned with respect to said'magazine.
