The primary object of niy invention is t0 provide a scraper for removing slime, inerustations and other -niattei'that forms upon condensing pipes due to the running water or atlnospl'ieric conditions, such inerustations impairing the efliciency of the condenser and necessitating a' cessation in the operation of the condenser' from time to time in order that it can be cleaned.
Another objectof this invention is to provide a scraper that can be advantageously used in connection With the condensersof ice plants, the scraper being arranged whereby it can be intermittently operated to prevent the format-ion of a coating upon the condenser' pipes, the operation of the scraper not interfering with or retarding the operation of the condenser. y A further object of this invention is to provide a Scraper rnade of standard niaterials and equlpped with yieldable Scraping blocks or blades that will not injure the condenser pipes.
A still further objectofthis invention is to provide a scraping machine that is durable, easy to install arid highly eicient for the purposes forA which it is intended.
With the above and other objects in view7 the invention resides in the novel construction, eonkbination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter. speciically described and then `claimed.

The scraper truck coin prises sets ot vertical scraper holders generally designated 5 and G, said holders having the vupper and lower ends thereof connected by longitudinal parallel angle bars 7 'and by diagonally'disposed braces S.
Each scraper holder comprises side plates 9 having the inner sides thereof provided with sets of vertical angle barslO forming y vertical channels 1l..- The Aupper and lower ends ot the angle barslO and the side plates 9 are connected by horizontal- plates 12 and 13. 'lhe latter are provided with bearings 14 for revoluble truck wheels 15 that travel i upon the track Ll.
Arranged within the channels il ot each holder are Scrapers7 comprising blocks 1G having the confronting faces thereof recessed, as at 17, each recess having a curved wall representing a quarter of the. circunr ference ot one oi' the tubes El, whereby the blocks 10 will surround or encompass the tubes 3, as best shown in Figs. Steam, airor water or any suitable fluid can be admitted to the cylinder 25 for moving the piston head 31 and the piston rod 'ytherein. W'hen steam is admitted to the pipe 29, the piston rod 30 is drawn'into the cylinder'and moves the scraping truck from one end of t-he condensing device to the opposite end thereof, the steam in the outer end of the cylinder exhausting through the pipe 27. By reversing the -course of the steam in the cylinder, that is, admitting steam by the pipe 27 and allowing the steam in the inner end of the cylinder to exhaust through the pi e 29, the scraper truck can again be shifted relatively to the condensing tubes 3. It is in this mannerthat the scraper truck p can be intermittently shifted to prevent the accumulation of slime or other matter upon the condensing tubes 3,v and as the scraping blocks 16 yieldably engage said tubes, said blocks remove matter that accumulates upon the surface of the condensing tubes.
