Be it known that I, HARRY l3. HALL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Culinary Machines, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improved culinary machine, the object of the invent on being to provide an improved supporting frame for removably holding a receptacle in position, and permanently securing a motor above the receptacle support with the motor shaft in a vertical position to drive a rotary whip in the receptacle.
' A further object is to provide an unproved receptacle, an improved cover there- ..for, and improved means for holding the receptacle in the frame, the receptacle.
'VVith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certainv novel features of construction, and combinations and 'arrangements of parts as will he more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims.
In theaccompanying drawings, Figure 1, is a view in side elevation illustrating my improvements. elevation and partly in longitudinal section. Fig. 3, is a view in section on the line of Fig. 2. Fig. 4-, is a view similar to Fig. 3, but showing the receptacle cover removed. Fig. 5, is a top plan view of the receptacle. Fig. 6, is a side elevation thereof. Fig. 7, is a side elevation of one of the cover sections, and Fig. 8, is a bottom plan view thereof.
1 represents a plate or casting secured by bolts 2, to legs 3. The outline of this plate or casting is of general rectanguiar form, and the legs 3 are located at the respective corners, and preferably inclined, slightly outwardly from their upper to their lower ends, -as clearly shown. This plate or casting 1 is provided with a curved recess or pocket 4, having a vertical flange or web 5 all around the same, and a horizontal sup-- porting web or flange (5, adapted to support the annular-flange 7 at the upper edge of the receptacle 8. Inclined bars 11 are secured at their lower ends by bolts 12 to plate or casting 1, and at their upper ends to a ring 13 by means of screws 14, said ring secured around the motor casting 15, and 16 represents the motor shaftdisposed in a "vertical position, supported solely by said motor and made angular at its lower end as shown at 17.

The cover for the receptacle comprises two half sections 22, each section having a handle 23, and made with a depending flange "2st to project into an internal annular groove in the receptacle, and provide a smooth interior in the receptacle and cover. The cover sections are also made with outwardly projecting flanges "25, to rest upon the annular flange T of the receptacle 8, and these flanges 25 adjacent the meeting edges of the cover sections, are made with depending lugs or pins 26 adapted to enter recesses 27 in the flange 7, and securely hold cover sections on the receptacle, said cover sections being provided with registering semi-circular recesses 28 to accommodate the whip stem 19.
Each leg .3 above describethhas a bracket 29 secured to its inner face, and a casting 30 secured on these brackets 29, and is of general semi-circularform to. support a pan or other device (not shown), when a sieve or other suitable receptacle (not shown) is supported upon plate or casting 1, to catch the strained material, and further this casting 30 and brackets .29 ailord a rigid support for the legs and the entire machine.
Vhilc I-have illustratrd and described .one form of whip-for the receptacle, it is obvious that a great manv varieties of whips LIL might be employed. The rece tacle with its cover is of general ellipsoida shape, but might of course be of other shapes, and I do not limit myself in thisv regard.
A great many changes might therefore be made-in the general form and arrangement of parts described without departing from my invention, and hence I do not restrict myself to the precise details set forth, but consi ler myself at liberty to make such changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the claims.
Haying thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire. to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a machine of the character described, the combination with a plate or casting, of legs supporting the same, a curved receptacle supporting flange on said casting, a receptacle, an annular flange thereon, adapted to be supported on said first mentioned flange, a cover for said receptacle, comprising two half sections, and pins on said cover sections, and recesses in the annular flange of the receptacle to receive said pins, substantially as set forth.
2. In a machine of the character described,

3. In a machine of the character described,
the combination of a plate or casting, legs directly supporting the same, said plate or casting having a curved receptacle supporting flange, a'receptacle, an annular flange on said receptacle adapted to be supported on the flange of the plate or casting, one of said flanges having recesses, lugs on the other of said flanges entering said recesses to hold the receptacle against accidental movement, a motor mounted on said receptacle support above the receptacle, a shaft supported solely by said motor and positioned invertical alinement with the axis of said receptacle, a heater within the receptacle, a shaft therefor, and a separable driving. connection between the motor shaft'and said beater shaft.
44-. In a machine of the character described, the combination with a plate or casting, of legs supporting the same, a curved receptacle supporting flange on said casting, a receptacle, an annular flange thereon, adapted to be supported on said li-rst mentioned flange, a cover for said receptacle, comprising two half sections, pins on said cover sections, and recesses in the annular flange of the receptacle to receive said pins, substantially as set forth, a motor supported above said receptacle support, and .a moton shaft supported solely by said motor and positioned in a vertical line in alinement r with the axis of said receptacle supporting flange.
5. In a machine of the character described, the combination with a plate or casting, of legs supporting same, a curved receptacle supporting flange on said casting, a recep tacle, an annular flange thereon, adapted to be supported on said first mentioned flange, a cover for said receptacle, comprising two half sections, and means locking said cover sections to the receptacle, means locking said receptacle to the first mentioned flange, whereby rotary movement of the receptacle and its cover is prevented, a motor supported above said receptacle support, and a motor shaft supported solely by said motor and positioned in a vertical line in alinement with the axis of said receptacle supporting flange.
6. The'combination of a receptacle, a support for said receptacle, means for preventing rotation of the receptacle with respect to its support, a motor, arms carried by the receptacle support for suspending said motor above the receptacle with its axis in line with the vertical'axis of said receptacle, a shaft driven by said motor, a heater whip within the receptacle, a shaft carrying said heater whip, and a movable membercarried by one of said shafts for connecting them in riving engagement. 2};
7. The combination of-a flanged receptacle, a support for said receptacle engaging the flange of the same, means for preventing rotation of the receptacle with respect to its support, a motor, arms carried by the receptacle support for suspending said motor above the receptacle with its axis in line with the vertical axis of said receptacle, an axially disposed shaft driven by said mo tor, a beater'whip within the receptacle, a shaft carrying said heater. whip, and a movable member carried by'one of said shafts for connecting them in driving engagement.
8. The combination of a flanged receptacle, a support for said receptacleengaging the flange of the same, one of said members having recesses and the other having lugs engaging the same for preventing rotation of the receptacle with respect to its support. a motor, arms carried by the receptacle sup-' port'for suspending said motor above the receptacle with its axis in line with the vertical axis of said receptacle, an axially disposed shaft driven by said motor, a beater whip 9.
