Having described this invention, what is 'claimed as new, is:-
1. A coupler of the class described comprislng a pair of supporting members adapt-l ed f or attachment to adjacent cars, .depending supporting yokes carried by said members, lnterlocking'members to hold the two sections of the coupler in coupled relation when the cars come together, swinging arms carried by the'interlockinmembers, and in;
terlocking heads carried y the lower ends o f the arms adapted to interlock as thearms pass feach other to -thereby couple the two sections of the train or air pipe coupler together when the cars come to ether.I
2. A`coupler of the class escribed com- .prising a pair of supporting members ada ted fpr attachment to adjacent. cars,guid1ng members adapted to interlock when the cars come together and hold the two sections of the coupler in coupled relation, yokes depending from the supporting memsupporting bers and havinga sliding engagement with the guiding members, swinging oted to. the guiding members, heads'at the lower ends ofthe of interlocking engagement arms p'ivmterlocking arms, means between the heads, cams to force and hold said heads in ,effective locking engagement when the cars cometogether, and other cams to .break the engagement. between said heads when the cars move apart whereby the two sections of thecoupler will'automatically uncouple.
