an, ,appro.\'i1nately centrally .dispos-ed. screw threaded bore 7 extending through its interior, and through the bores of each of the vThe-'polishing:stones are formed as is shown in Fig'sf). and 47 that is, their operative surfaces 12 and tl1eir-sides"\vhich-he 'adja` cent Vto-the closed side ofv the Wheeler head 1 are parallel, but the two sides 13 converge,
By this-arrangement, the converging radial sides of the vI'iolishinigl; stones may closely engage `thecorresponding converging radlal' sides of, the
Wedge 'shaped blocks It will be obvious that as the screw threaded boltS is rotated the bolt being held in a fixed position longitudinallv` that the'ivedge.
shaped block mounted on ythebolt will be moved radially inwardly orv outwardly, so
ing stones, and securelyhold the same in place by forcing them against the spacing blocks 5. By'this means a very convenientl mounting 'of the polishing stones is obtained. The stones may be easily removed by loosening the wedges 6, and a feature of importance consists in the fact that the stones may be held in any desired vertical position with reference to the Wedges, that is to say, as the stones become Worn down through continued usage so that their depth is reduced to onethird or one-fourth of their original depth, they may still be firmly secured by means of the Wedges.l it being necessary that they be engaged by the Wedges onlv to a depthof about one-halt` aninch. Another advantage of the structure described, resides in the fact that the bolts which move the wedges are operated at the outer periphery ofthe head or Wheel l, by which provision it is easier to adjust the Wedges and it is not necessary by virtue of this construction to have any bolts or nuts on the top .side of the head 1, where obviously they would be in a disadvantageous position.

as to engage the sidesfof the adjacent polish- Y blocks are vin position, they will bear directlyv vthe bolt-headsv 10.
In the modified form ofl the invention shownin Fig..-3, instead of providingthe webs/1 and the adjacent'spacin blocks 5, I form a spacing memberlet, w ich will 'be preferably integrally formed with the body' of the head or wheel 1. This obviates the necessity of using the separate spacing 5 and when the polishing stonesll against the integral spacing member 14. Another feature of modified construct-ion shown in this figure is, that the bolt-heads are countersunk and for this purpose the outer e'riphery of the head'ofr -wheel'l is forme .withrecesses adapted to receive The latter may be graspedin .this position by means of a suitsaid 'means being v riphery of the casing.-
