Be it known that I,THoMAs J. Moss, av cifien of the United States, residing at St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shocks, of which the following is a specilication, reference being had to the. accompanying drawings. V
This invent-ion comprehends certain new and useful improvements in accessories for automobiles and similar vehicles, and relates particularly to an improved. chock or block for motor cars designed for use in holding the cars stationary while repairing a! tire or in other situa-tions where it is impracticable to set the emergency brakes.
The invention has for its primary object a simple, durable and ellicient construction of device ot' this character, the parts 'of whichl are vso arranged that they may be 'cheaply manufactured and readily .assembled and disassembled, the device being collapsible so that it maybe easilyl carried in the tool box whereit will take up very little room. And the invention also aims to 'generally improve devices of this class and to render; them more useful and commercially ole.

In that embodiment of the' invention illustrated in 'I ig. 1, the device comprises two plates designated 1 and 2, the same being preferably formed of sheet metal and be- Aing `hingedly or otherwise movably conlormay be set up b nested together at one edge, as indicated at 4 which 'are designed to receive and de-` tachably hold lugs 5 that are formed on two side edges of a.. substantially triangular brace plate lor strut 6, whereby when said brace plate is inserted-in betweenthe plates 1 and 2 and its lugs 5 engaged in the slots 4, the said plates will be heldin angular relation to each other and may effectively serve as a wedge or chock against a-wheel of the automobile.
In that embodiment of my' invention illustrated in Fig. 4, the brace plate, there desi nated 6*, is hingedly connected to one of t e plates and is formed with lugs 5* designed for engagement in slots 4f in the other plate. In other respects,this device is like that illustrated in Fig. l.
