Mounted in the top of the tank or reservoir is a removable cap G, whereby the tank may be filled with the gasolene or other iuid hydrocarbon.
The torch body 14 has formedtherein the liquid hydrocarbon conveying channels 16 and 17 which terminate in the concentrically disposed tapered outlet 1S controlled by a needle valve 19, the stem ot' whichv is mounted through the projecting end 20 and stutlng box 21 and is provided with the operatingT wheel or handle F22. The fluid hydrocarbon under pressure when supplied to the torch body is admitted from the end of the tapered bore 18 concentricall)7 of the enlarged air and gas mixing chamber 23, which is provided with the series of air inlet elongated slots 24, said chamber being made substantially in the fornaci two oppositely disposed truncated cones, whereby the air, due to the projection ot thetlow or stream ot iluid hydrocarbon into the eductionftube or bore 25 of the main body 14, will be drawn through the longitudi- ,nally disposed slots 24 and be thoroughly mixed within said chamber and the eduction tube 25 before' the entrance of the carbureted air into the enlarged 'cylindrical combustion chamber 26 formed at the eX- treme' outer end ofv the torch body 14. Through the walls of the cylindrical combustion chamber are provided a plurality of equidistant-ly spaced apertures 27, while mounted removably in the open end o' the vcombustion chamber is a disk' 28, which,
through the medium of the removable screws 29 .is fastened in the outer end of the combustion chamber, asclearly shown in Fig. 2. This disk is provided with the concentrically disposed aperture 30- having radiating therefrom the plurality of radial slots 31, which provide a means for splitting the partly burned gases, said disk 28 being a baille plate whereby'the flame due to the shape of the same and the radiating slots 31 is caused to taper outwardly from the extreme end of the combustion chamber to an exceedingly sharp point, thus producing the desired pointed vflame for brazing and other purposes.
In order to supply the properamount of air and the consequentpressure to the contents of the tank or reservoir 1 to properly feed the' spray of `fiuid hydrocarbon into the torch body', the .removable pump cylinder 32 is disposed within the bore of the boss, 2 of the lamp bodyhthe rim 33 of said cylindrical pump body being disposed to receive the washer 33 'and with the cap'or cover 34 properly seats the said pump within the bore and secures the saine air and liquid tight upon the upper extreme end of the hollow boss' 2 of the lamp. The removable cap 34 is provided with the concentric aperture 35 through which is slidably mounted for rebeyond the plunger 39 is a concaved disk 40 ixed upon, to seal the upper end of the truncated conical casing 41 which is removably mounted in the concentric aperture in the lower end of the pump cylinder 32 and projects within the body to be engaged or incased by the cupped portion of the concaved disk 40 when the plunger is locked in*vl the position as shown in Fig. 1. Formed coneent-rically and integrally with the inner end of the valve carrying casing 41 is the re-\ duced tube 42 forming the air outlet for the pump and providing upon its lower. end a seat for thewalve 47 which is mounted within the removable tube 44, whose upper end is threaded intothe open end of the valve casing 41, said tube being provided -with the air outlet aperture 45 in its lower end and having mounted therein the spring 46 which normally bears upwardly upon the lower side `of the valve 47 to hold the same in' valve seating position with the lower end of the, tube 42, a leather seat 48 being carried by the valve 47. The said valve 47 is provided with the spring and spaced terminals 49 which ride upon thev wall of t-he tube 42 and thereby properly guide the valve 47 into and out of seating relation and also when forced downwardly', due to the in-stroke of the plunger 39, slides downwardly upon the stem 42 to permit the emission 'of air through the s aces lbet-Ween the arms into the tube 44 and ignally into tank. By this construction it will be seen that upon the downstroke of the plunger 39 the air.will be forced within the tank or reservoir 1 and `that by reason of the spring 46 and the valve 47, that upon the up-stroke the pressure within the tank and the said spring will close the said valve 'to prevent any leakage of air or the liquid into the `pump cylinder 32, thus preventing any action that tends to push the plunger upwardly into extended position or'up-stroke, as is the general faultf with most blow torches.

In order to lock the plunger in its downward position and.thereby place it out 'of the way in manipulating the blow torch, the oppositely .disposed integral lugs 50 are formed upon the boss 2 while pivotally connected thereto is the bail 51, preferably'made of wire and provided with the spaced terminals 52 with the eyes 53 u on the ends thereof, said eyes being pivota ly mounted upon the respective lugs 50, so that the coils 54 carried by the bridging portion of the bail 51 may be brought into and out of contact as at a with the outer end of the button or handle 3S of the plungerstem, thus retaining the plunger stem in the down .orinstroke position, and as the-said coil 54 permits a yielding tension upon the upper end of the knob or handle 38, the said plunger 39 is held yieldingly downwardly into valve se ting position, thus locking the same in an im# movable position and permitting the ready manipulation of the torch by means of the handle 5 without any'interference from the upper end of the plunger stem.
What is claimed is:
1.- A blow torch, having a `burner provided with an enlarged double cone-shaped.

A blow torch, having a' fluid reservoir provided with an angular-ly disposed hollow movably disposed in the extreme outer end `of the combustion chamber, said bailie diskboss, and an air supplying means removably insertible within Athe boreof the boss and comprising a pump cylinder, a plunger reciprocatingly mounted therein, astem` connected `to the .plunger and .projecting exteriorly of the body, a removable cap sur.- rounding the stem for locking the pump body withinthe boss, and a bail pivotally connected to said boss and disposed to engage the outer end of the stem to lock the s same in in-stroke position.
5. A blow torch, having a luid reservoir provided with an angularly disposed hollow boss, and an air supply means removably inj sertible within the bore of the boss and comprising a pump cylinder, a plunger reciprocatingly mounted therein, a stem connected to the plunger and projectingexteriorly of the body, a removable cap surrounding the stem for' locking the pump body withinthe boss, a bailpivotally connected to said boss and disposed to engage the outer-'end of the stem toflock the same min-stroke position,
and a spring coil carried by saidwbail` and disposed to yieldingly engage the outer face of the stem to yieldlngly hold `the stem in in-stroke position.
