My invention relates to a registering device for turnstiles and its ohiect is proride a means for counting the number of people passing through a turnstiie, thereby showing the exact number of admissions and rendering it impossible to falsify the returns. v

I have illustrated my device in the acconipsnying drawings, in which W gure l, is a hrolzen section of the stile wing pocket attached with register in lace. 1 is s turnstile head mounted upon a suitshle pe'destolfi, and 3 and 4 are arms 01 the turnstile which separate the persons entering the inclosure.

5 is a clamp to which the register pocket 6 is attached.

8 is a trap secured to the pocket 6 by a hinge 9, and 10 is a key for the trap 8 and passes through holes 11, 11 in the register pocket 6.

18 is a hinged lever secured in the register case 13 and 19 is a curved head plunger operating in said-register case.

The operation of my device is as follows: The pocket of the registering device is at tuched by means of the clamp and stud bolt 7 to the pedestal of the turnstile, underneath the revolving head and arms of the same. its position is such that the revolving head of the turnstile 1, with its arms, in its revolution causes said arms to come in contact with the curved heed oft-he plunger 19, operating in the registercase 13.

This contact causes the plunger to he dc pressed, and, acting upon the hinged lever 18, drives the push pin 17 in the register, thus causing the numbers to he turned up on the dial ot' the register. These numbers show the number of times contact has been made between the arms the turnstile hes and the curved headed plunger in the rt ister case, and as it requires the passage or a person between the arms and through the stile to operate the plunger, it is readily seen that this passage must be duly registered.

I do not claim any particular style of register or numbering device. The hinged door 15 (Figsl) enables me to insert any desired form or register and also to reset the dials of some.

lt will be understood from the above description that the case shown in Figs. 5 and 6 together with the plunger 19 and the registering device are adapted to fit removably in the pocket 6 which is attached to the turnstile.
