Be it known that I, JOSEPH P.. MARois, of the city of Montreal, in the 'Province of Quebec and Dominion of Canada, haveinvented new and useful' VImprovements lin Railway-Tracks, and do hereby` declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description. f
This invention relates to improvements in railway tracks, and the Objectis to provide means whereby a permanent foundation may be laid in the ground to which the rails may be attached easily and quickly.
The invention relates particularly to the laying of. street railway tracks, where Ithe In the drawings which illustrate this in-r ventionz-Figure 1 is a perspectiye view of the device as it would appear with all the pavement removed. The preferred method of attaching the chair to the ties is by means of clamps 14 on the outside of the rails and similar clamps 15 between the'rails. Having thus described my invention, I declare that What'I claim is A railway track comprising a plurality of ties, flanged rail chairs mounted thereon, each of said chairs having at one end a Jtongue and at the opposite end a recess for the reception of the tongue of the adjacent chair, clamps spacing said chairs and securing the same to the ties, rails mounted on said chairs, bolts passing through the chair and rail, flanges securing the rails in position and locking ribs on said chairs and rails to prevent lateral movement of the rails on the chairs.
