To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARRY S. HART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in'the county of Cook and State of Illinois, lfave invented certain new and useful Improvements in Truck-F ra1nes, of which the following is a specification.
One of the objects of my invention is to I provide a car truck side frame having the journal boxes attached theretoin such a way as to properly carry the load and withstand shocks.
Another object is to provide a construction of the journal boxes that shall facilitate putting them together or taking them apart and that shall securely hold them together when desired.
A further object is to provide a side frame for a car truck that shall facilitate placing the end of the bolster inoperative relation thereto. f v
Still andther object is to provide a construction that shall hold the bolster end in i so operative relation to theside frame whenfit-f has once been properly placed.

The-reference numeral 23 designates the upper half of each journal box. -'The walls of this upper half arecast integral with the side frame. ""For the sake of clearness only one plate is shown in Figs. 1 and 2. When both plates are in place they render the bolster end opening narrower at the top than at the bottom, thus the end of the bolster can be introducedf'into the bottom part of the opening, then-raised so that its flanges will engage the plates 20, and it will be held in this ..pos'ition' by introducing the bolster spring above the bottom arch bar 16. When the bolster is in place with its end projecting through the upper part of the opening and its flanges embracing the plates 20, the said plates will be securely "held in place. But when the bolster end is dropped to the bottom of the opening the plates 20 can .be instantly removed by removing t-he bot" ftom end" of each inward funtil it" ceases to engage ;the lugs 18, then. droppingthe plate as "a wholeuntil the.project1ons"22 cease to .engage the lugs 19. -It wil'l be seen that the mode of attachmentbetween the plates secure and convenient. .jIclalm': r

6. In a car truck side frame, a journal box having the upper part thereof integral with said frame, the lower part being wholly supported by the upper part, and means formed integrally with the two parts of the journal box for detachably securing said lower part tosaid upper part;
