l To all lwhom t may concern Be it known that we, GEORGE HARTFORD IRWIN, JOHN PERCIVAL CULLON, and FRED- Enron KNowLsoN, all of the town Aof Lindsay, in the county of Victoria, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, have vjointly invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fluid-Pumps, of which the following is the specication.
Our inventionrelates to improvements in fluid pumps and the object of the invention is to devise a simple, positive and eiiicient pump.
The invention consists of a pump having a plurality of cylinders and in which the piston rods are connected by universal joints to an annular member having a cup bearing surrounding the driving shaft but independent thereof. The pistons are actuated by a wheel keyed to the driving shaft 4and provided with two rollers of different sizes which bear against a track situated rear of the periphery of the annular .member. The main shaft when driven revolves the wheel secured thereto causing the major roller thereon to depress that part of the annular member against which it bears thus forcing the adjacent piston down into the cylinder while the portion of the wheel-` against which the minor roller bears is raised and thus the piston adjacent thereto is forced up in the cylinder, as hereinafter more particularly explained.
Figure 1 represents an elevation of a pump constructed according to` our invention wherein six cylinders are employed, a portion of the casing being removed. Fig. 2, is a vertical section through the same. Fig. 3, is a detail showing 'the annular member to which the piston rods are connected.

9 is a thrust bearing and 10 is the wheel keyed to the shaft 7 by the key 10.

When the shaft 7 is driven the wheel 10 being keyed thereto revolves with the shaft and the rollers .l1 and 12 bearing against the inclined track 4 Aof the member 4 impart a reciprocating movement to the pistons 2 as the rollers travelA around the said track. It is apparent that the major roller 11 will causethe piston adjacent to the portion of the track beneath it to be pushed down toward head of the cylinder while the piston adjacentto that portion of the track beneath the minor vroller 12 will be correspondingly raised simultaneously no matter how many cylinders are employed. ,The major roller will push each pistondown into the cylinder as the wheel 10. revolves and each piston as it comes beneath the minor roller 18 will be correspondingly raised.
Many modifications may be made in our invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the claim thereof and the form shown is to be taken in illustrative and not limiting sense.
What we claim as our invention is: i
A fluid pump comprising a plurality of suction and discharge valves in the heads, thereof, pistons the cylinders, an annular member, connecting rods with universal joints at both ends connect-ing the pistons and said annular member, a driving sha-ft having suitable bearings, a wheel secured to the shaft and a main operating roller journaled in suitable bearings attached to the wheel or disk, and a following roller journaled in like bearings and adapted to eliminate vibration of the annular member operatively connected to the pistons as specified.
