To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known thatI, HAROLD C. MACAIRE, a subject of the King of England, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State 'of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Water-Heaters, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates'to improvements in water-heaters particularly adapted for domestic use, the object ofthe invention'being the provision of an improved water-heater, which shall be simple ofl construction and eliicient in operation.
The invention consists of the novel constructions and arrangement of parts all as will be hereinafter more fully described and pended claims.

The preferred form of construction of my invention as illustrated on the accompanying drawings comprises a vertical boiler 1 oi a common construction except as otherwise hereinafter indicated. A stand, or pedestal 2 supports a circular angleliron 3 which forms a seat or the boiler 1; and the gas-pipe d leadinginto `the boiler at the lower end thereof is connectedto an annular pipe or chamber 5 arranged under the boiler by means of a threaded lug t and pipe-connection 7. The .annular chamber 5 is arranged concentric withlthe boiler and is deburners 8 having controlling cocks 9, said burners being equally spaced on the chamber and accessible for regulating the size of the gas dames 10. A water-heater of the construction set forth is symmetrical in design, simplev of construction, and highly 'eiiicient in operaf tion.
While l have illustrated 'and described the u@ preferred construction for carrying my' invention into eect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention, l therefore do not wish to limit myself to the precise details of construction set forth but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims. v
Having describedmy invention what l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentis:
1. A water-'heater comprising a-boiler; a hollow dome located under said boiler, said dome consisting of two superposed inverted frusto-conical members, the lower of which is smaller and inserted and threaded' into the upper; connections between said dome and said boiler, and means for heating said dome and said boiler, substantially as described.
2. A water heater comprising a boiler; a hollow dome located under said boiler, said dome consisting of two inverted rustoconical members, the lower of said members having a greater angularity than the upper so as to form a water space which gradually increases in width toward the top, said lower member being threaded therein; connections between said dome and said boiler; and a nceaes? burner projecting-its :dame into said con cavity, substantially as described.
. 3. A water-heater comprising a boiler; a hollow dome located under said boiler; means for heating said dome and boiler; a
-drain pipe for said dome, the interior of said dome being given a general inclination toward said drain pipe; and connections between said dome and said boiler, substantially as described.
4, A water heater comprising a boiler; a hollow' dome located under said boiler; a burner projecting its flame into said dome;
a drain pipe connected with the lower portions of said boiler and dome, the interior -of saidA dome being given a general inclination toward said drain pipe; a stop cock 1n `said drain pipe below said connections; and
a pipe connecting the upper portion of said -dome with the upper portion of said boiler,
substantially as described.
