Another `object of my' invention is to provide apparatus for forging having novel means for resisting the enormous end thrust developed in the operation of the apparatus and for extending thefllifeV of such-thrust; resisting surfaces.
Referring to the drawings, Figure 1is aplan showing forging apparatus constructed and arranged in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a sectional side elevation of the apparatus shown in Fig. A'1 showing the manner in which the one forging die isl caused to wabble in imparting/a forging movement to the apparatus. Before placing the blanks in position the driving motor is preferably started so as' to rotate the crank 21, which will cause the Wabbling shaft- 18 to move, the axis of the Wabbling shaft 18 describing a conical path Whose apex is at or 'adjacent to the intersecting axial centers of the opposing dies. The apparatus is simple and is easily kept in repair, and expensive delays in the op- ,eration of the apparatus caused in makingl repairs' to the apparatus are avoided and overcome.
