The objects of the'invention-'are to olatainv a perfect electrical contact. in asepa.- rable connector,-to-allow the adjustment of the contact members incase of -\vea r, to ob-,. viate the hreakrngoffthe?wireslleadlng to the removable portiono thefconnector, and to devise a'sunpleand cheap form' of connector in which the-separable' portion willl hold securely.

The recesses 2 are. formed to receive the round headed split pins l and are preterahly just one-half the depth of said pins. The semi-cylindrical portions of the said recesses are slightly larger than the stein portions of the said pins.

In the-event of the pins '4 becoming -slig'htly worn and the members becoming a little loose, it is' merely necessary to remove the cover block 8 'and 'tighten the A screws 5 slightly.` The counter-sunk heads V of the screws 5 press into the counter-sunk heads of the pins and spread the two members kforming the stemof the pins apart. 4Any desired spring outward tension' may be thus given to the said pins so that when the removable portion of the connector is forced on to the ends of'said pins, it will be held verysecurely in place and will not come apart very readily. 'The clamping block 'i9 is a very important feature, as it grips the wires leading to the tubular contacts very securely and for a considerable length, `thus relieving the strain. upon the terminal ends of the wire, where the are connected to the tubular contact mem ers.V l This form 'of-connector is particularly adapted for usein electric stoves, heaters, irons and other such like utensils. In anelectrical connector, the combination with a suitable socket member, of a block of insulatinv material having a recess formed in the Iaee thereof opening to one edge, an expansible longitudinally split pin having. its head resting in said recess land the stem extending beyond one' edge of said block, adjustable means for expanding said pin secured in said block and extending through the split of said pin, an -insulatino' block adapted to fit over the aforesaid block to completelycover in the head ortion of said pin resting in the aforesaid lock, and means for clamping said blocks together.
