UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANNA HINKEL, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
SLEEVE-FORM.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANNA I-IINKEL, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sleeve- Forms; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My invention consists in what is herein particularly set forth with reference to the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claim of this specification, its object being to provide simple, economical, durable and efficient readily adjustable forms especially designed to facilitate the draping of dress-sleeves upon linings provided for the same.
Figure 1 of the drawings represents a plan view of an adjustable sleeve-form in accordance with my invention partly broken away, and Fig. 2, a transverse sectional view of the same on the plane indicated by line 2-2 in Fig. 1.
Referring by numerals tothe drawings, 3 indicates one and 4 the other of a pair of flat lapping sections that go to make up the adjustable sleeve-form herein specified, each section being of indurated fiber or other suitable light material and of sleeve contour substantially as herein shown. Extending through the form-section 3 at the ends thereof and adjacent to one longitudinal edge of the same are fixed bolts 5 and 6 that engage spacing-washers 7, curved wall slots 8, 9, respectively in the form-section l, outer binding-washers 10 and clamp-nuts 1.1. The walls of the slot 8 are concentric and of suitable radius from a center intermediate of the bolts 5 and 6, the curves of the walls of the slot 9 being respectively centered adjacent to the extremities of the former slot, whereby either or both sections may be adjusted one upon the other without Specification of Letters Patent.

binding, the washers upon the bolt 6 being of sufficient diameter to always straddle the somewhat triangular slot 9. While the spacing-washers are preferable, in order to reduce friction incidental to the adjustment of the form-sections, they may be omitted from the bolts 5, 6, and binding-washers on said bolts are not absolutely essential if the bases of clamp-nuts on said bolts are of sufficient area to straddle the adjacent slots. The form is adjusted to suitably spread a sleeve-lining thereon, after which the draping of the sleeve itself is effected, and said form being light it may be readily manipulated to facilitate the work aforesaid. The dimensions of its sections are such that the form may be adjusted to fit any sleeve-lining regardless of its measurements and the material of the form-sections is such as to prevent the sticking of pins or needles therein.
I claim:
An adjustable form upon which to spread a sleeve-lining to facilitate the draping of the sleeve itself thereon, and which consists of a pair of flat lapping sections of sleeve contour, a pair of bolts fixed in one of the form-sections at the ends thereof adjacent to one edge of the same, the other section being provided with curved wall bolt-engaged slots one of which slots has its walls concentric and of suitable radius from a center intermediate of the bolts, the other slot being somewhat triangular due to the walls thereof being respectively centered adjacent to the extremities of the slot first aforesaid, and clamp-nuts run on said bolts.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand at Milwaukee in the county of Milwaukee and State of \Visconsin in the presence of two witnesses.
ANNA HINKEL. IVitnesses EDWIN HINKEL, OTTO HnnRMANN.
