To all whom. it may concern Be it known that I, JEAN Bsr'rrs'rn MARIE PIERRE HENRY ROSLIN nlvnr, of Paris, Republic of France, have invented Improvements Relating to Electromagnetic Receivin Apparatus of which the following is a f1 clear, and exact description.
I The present invention relates to an electro magnetic receiving apparatus.
The essential feature of this apparatus is to provide a device for insuring the distri bution of the current in the utilization cir cuit, while at the some time retarding the contact in order to enable a contact lztey pass over the several tin-utilized contents without closing the electric circuit.
The invention is hereinafter described with reference to the accompanying drew ing, in which Figure 1 shows in elevation, partly sec tion the part for the distribution of the current, which at the some time provides the necessary retardation in the contact the employment of an approp iate liquid. Fig. 2 is a: plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view. Fig.4 a vertical sectional view showing the parts raised position. Fig. 5 shows in elevation a device for the distribution of the current, which at the same time provides for the retardation of the contact by means of air.

The distributing part which is shown in Figs. 1 to 4, utilizes an appropriate liquid such as petroleum for example. This part comprises broadly a coil a capable of attracting a core of soft iron I; which is movably mounted on a central guide a in such it manner that it may ascend and descend inside of a movable cylinder (Z which is arranged in a tube e fixed to the coil (1 The movable cylinder (Z is provided at its lower end with two studs f which are chamfered and arranged diametrically opposite one another. This cylinder 0? is surmounted by a rod d which passes through a soft iron. plug 9 and carries a cross piece d forming a contact key, The cross piece is fixed to therod by a metal-nut h surmounted by a screw cap 71 of appropriate insulating material:

When the core I) has completed its down ward movement the lugs 25 will rest upon the circular block'o' .and the current of utilization passes from the terminal .lV through the Wire 10 toblock 0 to studs t to the cylinder (Z,'-.t-hence by way of (Z and (Z to the contact piece (Z and then by way of that one of the terminals m which is joined to that particular one of the contacts which corresponds to the chosen control.
From the terminal m the current. of utilization goes to the appa atus or to the 1nachine which is to be setinto action, and returns from this machine to the source of electricity by way of a return-wire.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new and what is desired to be secured by Letters Patent is set forth in. the following claims.
1. In .an electric telemechanic transmitting and receiving device, a tube provided with teeth at each end, a coil surrounding said tube, electrical connections to said coil, a cylinder (Zin said tube, studs j, j, at each end of said cylinder adapted to engage with the teeth on the tube whereby the cylinder will be rotated, a contact key on the cylinder, contacts Zf' adapted to be engaged by said Z ygted to have hey, a tubular core Z) a d movement within the cylinde (Z and adapt- .ed to be raised wncn the coil is energized so as to raise the cylinder, and means for re tarding the lowering of said core when once raised.
