fl'o all whom lit m a-y concern Be it known that I, J om: G. MnmeAx, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have inveted a new and useful ,Improvement in Biscuit-Pans'; `and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which `will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specifca-tion.

This invention 'relates to improvements in connecting small hiscuit-pans together in clusters, and consists in a novel construction of parts, which will be more particularly described.hereinafter.. o

Figure 1 represents a plan of the bot'tom of acluster of pans, joined together at the bottom by strips, and at the top by connccting the edges together.

Figure 2 'ep'esents a side elevaticn of a cluster, connected at the top only.

Figure 3 represents a sectional elevatioi of a. cinster, showing a modified arrangement for oonneetiug tlem'at the top.

Figure 4 re'prescuts a plan view of a cluster, connected as in fig. 3.

A represents the pans, and

B, the hnrs or strips, riveted to the said pans by rivcts G, pnssing through the bars, also connect-ing two sets of hars or stips, arranged at right angies to each other. Y

These bas may he prolouged as much as required to connect any numberof pans Vin a cluster, and they may be joined to each other where they meet by welding, or theynay be punched out of sheet metal in one piece, in the forms represented in the diagrams, figs. 5 and G, in which cases t-he rirets G will pass through two thickncsses only.

The order of arraugenent of the rows nay be in right, curved or other lines, as may be preferred.

I proposc, i connection with these bars, to connect the npper edges of the pans, wh ere they come together,

by strips of metal passing through holes in the sides,

and clinehed or riveted t-o them, or`by rivets passing through the sides of two pans where they meet together; or I may use either of these modes of connection at the top or sides 01' at the bottom separat-ei y, as found best. For-instance, if it be required t-o connect the said pans strongly to withstaud rough usage, I use the bars or strips B conjointly with the connections of the upper edges, using either one of the modes represented for connecting the edges. But, in cases where strengthof connection isnat. so much object, and it is t'more desirabie to arrangc the said pzns so that they will nest in packing for Storage or transportation, I dispense with the bars or strips, and connect thern'at the upper edges only` In fig. 2 I have represented a strip,-D, of metal, bent so as to eit-end from the top of one pan to another, and down the side of each a short distance, the paus not quite meeting together, and'the two downward-p'ojecting ends of the unitiug-st-rip being riveted to the pans.

In figs. 3 and 4 a strip, E, is shown, extending across the upper edges of two pans, meeting together, ex-

- tending down Ward inside of each, and through holes made in the sides, and clinched together at. the ends, meeting between the pans in any suitahle way.

I olaiin as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1 Biscuit-pans, connected t-ogetherin clusters by means of the bars B, united to the bottons, and by uniting the edges at the top's, as described.
