To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Jenn Enwnnn Selina, a Subject of the King ol Great Britain and Ireland, and residing at ltvdal Mount, ll olders ,llill, llcndon, in the county of Middlesex, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in the Valves of Iuternal-Combustion Engines, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to valves of the to tary cylindrical type for internal combinilion engines. and ban for its objects to simplify the cmistruction oi such valves and particularly to a oid (ii tortions of the valve due to unequal expair io'n caused by the (lit ference n the temperature ol the gilfitir; pan inn through the same.

In carrying out my invention acc rding:

My invention is equally applicable to single r-yliiuler engines as well as to engines having; a plurality of working cylinders, and it will also be obvious that the annular valve may be driven at. any desired speed in relation to the speed of the crank-shaft, by a proper disposition of the inlet. and exhaust ports.
Ha ring now described my invention what 'I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. Valve mechanism for admission and exhaust-of an internal eon'ihustion engine comprising in combination two fixed con centric valve cylinders and a hollow annular valve working in the. annular space between said cylinders.
2. Valve mechanism for admission and exhaunt, of an internal combustion engine comprising in combination two fixed concentr ic "nos.
valve cylinders, and a hollow annular valve rotating in the annular space between said cylinders, and means for rotating said annular valve.
3. Valve mechanism for admission and 0xhaust of an internal combustion engine comprising in combination an outer fixed valve cylinder rovided with ports communicating with t 1e working cylinders of the engine, an inner fixed concentric valve cylinder having ports corresponding with the ports in the outer valve cylinder, a hollow annular valve open at one endjantl closed at the other end and rotating in the" annular space between the valve cylinders, and means for rotating said valve.
4. Valve mechanism for admission and exhaust of an internal combustion engine comprising in combination two fixed concentric valve cylinders, a hollow annular valve rotatin in the annular space between the said va ve cylinders, said annular valve being open at one end and closed at the other, vanes inside the open end of said annular valve, and means for rotating said valve.
5. Valve mechanism for admission and exhaust of an internal combustion engine comprising in combination an outer valve cylinder provided with ports communicating with the working cylinders of the engine, a water jacket for said valve cylinder, a fixed inner valve cylinder concentric with said outer valve cylinder, a water jacket for said inner valve cylinder, a hollow annular valve rotatin in the annular space between said valve cy inders and means for rotating said valve.
6. Valve mechanism for admission and exhaust of an internal combustion engine comprising in combination an outer valve cylinder having ports communicating with the workin cylinders of the engine, a water jacket or said valve cylinder, an inner valve cylinder fixed concentrically within the outer valve cylinder and having ports corresponding with the ports in the outer valve cylin' dcr, a water jacket for said inner valve cylinder, a hollow annular valve open at one end andclosed at the other and rotating in the annular spacebetween said valve cylinders, vanes inside the open end of said annular valve, and means for rotating said valve.
