To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, F'neoonr Pn'rnnsou, a subject of the King of Sweden, residing at Salem, in the county of Columbiana an. State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Leaves for hedit-Registels; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to leaves for credit registers and filing appliances used by merchants in credit accounting or tiling systems. The invention having relation to the construction of the leaves going to make up the filing device or credit register.

In the accompanying drawiug-Figure 1 is a perspective view of a credit account lea-f. Fig. 2 is a perspective .view showing a portion of one of the leaves of the system, the leaf being shown in longitudinal section. Fig. 3 is a section of the leaf showing; the hinge. clip placed in proper position. Fig. 4 is a. detached view of one of the st tips. Fig. 5 is 'a perspective view showing portion of a leaf and illustrating one of the strips in proper relative position showing the strip in longitudinal section. Fig. 6 is a view showing a portion of the leaf in its. unfolded condition.

In the accompanying drawing, 1 represents the sheet or leaf which is formed of asiz such as are commonly used in credit account appliances. 'lhe'bottoms of the sheet 1 or more specifically the leaves are provided with the. integral folded portions 2, 3 and 4, which folded portions constitute a base, which base is formed of sufficient width to provide room between leaves for the bars or strips 5. For the purpose of giving the desired amount of rigidity to the bases of the leaves the bars 6 are provided around which bars are folded the parts 2, 3 and 4 of the leaves 1. The strips 5 are preferably formed of metal and are hollow. and their upper and lower ends provided with the tan s 7. That portion of the metal which is to ded to constitute the bases of the leaves is provided'with the cut out portions or apertures 8, which apertures are so located that they will come in practical alinement with the line of folds or bends indicated by the dotted lines 9, Fig. (i. which are the oints 0f foldin around and upon the longitudinal edges 0 the bars 6, 'so that when theimetal has been folded as illustrated in Figs. 2 and 5, the cut out portions or apertures will be located at the longitudi nal edges of the bases and in position to receive the tangs 7 formed upon the bars or strips 5, this feature being illustrated in Figs. 2 and 5.

For the purpose of providing means for hinginga series of leaves together. the buses are provided with the clips 10, which clips are PIOVNIGCl WlilI the hinge eyes 11, said hlnge eyes being arranged in the usual man ner.

The construction of the leaves is substan tially tl same regardless of the number of leaves employed and the present invention has no specific reference to credit, cabinets save and except the particular construction of the leaves.

For the purpose of assisting in securely holding the strips 5, rivets or their equivalents are employed. T he tangs T perform the double function of closing the hollow strips 5 at their upper ends and at the same time assist in holding the extreme lower ends of the strips in proper relationship with reference to the leaves and the lateral flanges constituting the base of the leaf.

Having fully described my invention what- I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a leaffor credit registers, the combination of a leaf provided with lateral folded portions, apertures formed in the material of the leaf at the folds, strips secured to the faces of the leaf, said strips provided with tangs,'said tangs adapted to be seated in the apertures located at the folds, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
