axle 15 and being so constructed as to permit the axle to be readily turned in steering, and as shown, the rear ends of the beams are suitably supported upon the axle` A support 1.6 is secured to the beams midway between the epds thereof. This support is ar anged in parallel relation with respect to the rear axle and it has mounted thereon a rock shaft 1T having dependingr ends 1S which are formed to provide eyes l) to which the rings 20 of the adjusting chains Q1 are secured, a plurality of such chains, preferably three, being suitably connected to each of the members l and 2 of the drag, preferably at the center. The rock shaft i7 is provided with al Controlling handle which is provided with a spring; eontrolled pawl Q3 to engagel the rack segment 24 on the beams B. rl`his construction is such that the drag may be elevated above the surface of 'the lground at the will ot the operator.
While a specific form of wagen has been described, it is obvious that the drag as constructed and described herein can be readily fitted to any well known form ot wagon ol a design which will permit the drag to be disjosed between the front and rear axles, the axles being spaced sutlieiently to permit relative movement of the drag sections between the front and rear wheels and to allow the ends of the drag sections to protrude from the sides ot the wagon, as clearly shown'in the drawings. The draft chain is such that when the dragr is drawn forwardly vthe members l and 2 thereotl will be moved toward each other, In operation1 the rear bars 4 of the members l and 2 operate as drapl comprising 'flexibly connected with each other` at their rear ends, a` draft chain connected with the members at the front ends thereof and operating to move the. members toward each other. and bumpers at the inner ends of the members extentling' throughout their length above the plane ot the scraping surfaces ot the members.
*2. rl"he combination with a vehicle, ot a road drag' located therebeneath and supported thereby and embodyingr angularly adjustable relatively movable members, aud bumpers at the inner ends of the members contacting with each other and having their lower surfaces disposed above the plane et the lower surfaces of the nien'ibers.
3. The combination with a Wheeled vehicle, ot a. road drag comprisingrelatively movable members disposed between the front and rear axles ot' the vehicle, chains having their forward endsconnected to the -members and having their rear ends adjustably connected to the rear axle for holding the members at an angle to eaeh other, and a dratt chain having' liortions connected with the members and having a portion connected with the front axle of the vehicle.
