To ell whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, LEONARD R. STEEL, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuya `boga and State of Ohio, have vinvented new the type wherein a bottle or similar recepe. tacle is placed in an inverted position on.

The cup or chamber is usuallyarranged in an ice chest and is considerably less in diameter than theice chest so that the intervening space may be filled with ice to maintain the wat/er within the chamber in a cool. state. lt/ obvious with this construction that the' ice has little or no effect on the water within the bottle since the water must of a necessity pass from the bottle into the chamber and there remain for a period in order to be chilled by the ice. It has been found with the use otl devices of this kind that when water is taken at frequent intervals from the cooler it is never thoroughly chilled, due to the comparatively short time it remains in the cup or chamber before passing through the faucet. The present invention therefore aimsto remedy this detect by providing a specific form of bottle interiorly provided with an ice chamber so pog sitioned that the entire volume of water in the bottle will be acted upon by the ice and maintained in a cool state.
An object of the invention is vthe provision of a jacket or casing for the bottle, the said jacket or casing being.provided with suitable insulation to protect the contents ot' the ice vchamluar from the atmos pheric temperature so that the ice within the chamber may be preserved for an indefinitely long period.
With theseand other objects in view, which will more fully hereinafter appear, the present invention consists in certain novelV details of construction and arrangement of parts, hereinafter fully described,

The jacke-t is preferably formed of metal and comprises an outer casing and an inner casing. The outer casing comprises a cylindrical body portion designated by the numeral 5 and is provided at one end with a bottom 6. The inner casing is designated by the numeral 7 and at one end is provided with a bottom 8. The bottoms 6 and S are centrally provided with alining circular openings and a circular wall 9 is secured to the edges of these openings bymeansof solder' or the like in order to insure a tight joint. A rabbet i0 is formed on the inner surface and at the upper end portion of the inner casing 7, the upper edges of the outer and inner casings being connected and held in spaced relation by means .of an angle strip ll. The space between the outer and inner casings is lilled with cork, asbestos or other suitable heat insulating material as shown at 12. From the foregoing it is evident that. I have provided a device 4which is comparatively simple in structure and inexpensive to manufacture? embodyingl few parts and those so arranged that the danger of derangement will be redueed to a minimum.
