Be it known that I, ALEXANDER KNAPPEN- BERGER, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Siegfried, in the county of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Crushing-Mills, of which the following isa specification.
This invention relates to improvements in.
crushing mills such as are usually employed for crushing cement, clinker and the like.
- One object of the invention is the-"prov sion of a crushing mill including a rotaiiizle platform supporting the crushing rollers and underlying a hopper and having openings through which'the materialto be onto the ring die.

Th'e ' shafts 34 and 35 are formed with crushing rollers or-wheels 36 and 37., the width of the tread surface of these rollers being somewhat less in width than that of the-portion 17 of the ring die,t-he said rollers being so positioned that their 'outer sides will bear-on thefiange 18 of the ring die,' while the spacewill' exist between the Y inner side of .said rollers and the adjacent side'of' the channel 'of'thebed'5 as clearly shown in Fig. 1. Inorder that a maximum amount of the outerside'of the rollers 36 and 37 will bear'on the inner surface of the 'fiange 18 offtho ring die,'th'e outersurfaces of said rollers are curved to correspond to the curvature of the saidflang'e 18 so also are thegt-read surfaces of the rollers shaped to correspond to the curvature and inclination of the portion 17 of the ring die.
Surrounding the lower end portion of the shaft 19 and supported from the horizontal portion22 of the hanger is a circular table 38, the said-table being provided adjacent to-its periphery with diametrically disposed vertical openings 39 and 40; Extending downwardly and outwardly from the openings 39and 40 are spouts 42 and 43, the axial portions of said spouts lying in an inclined plane with the middle of the hearing portion 17 of the ring die, the-said spouts being so positioned that'the material 47 and 48, the lower end portionsof which extend over the upper side of the wall-44 of the table so that the material passing therethrough will fall. onto the table :38.v Inclining upwardly and inwardly from the upper sides of the openings 5 and 46 are tubes 4? and 50, the upper or inner ends of which means of the shaft 19 nooaaee lead into the lower end of a hopper 51. With this construction it will be manifest when the material to' be crushed is inserted into the hopper 51 it will pass through the tubes 49 and 50, thence through theopenings 45 and 46 into the tubes I? and 48 and onto the table 38. vVhen the latter is rotated by e 'material on the table 38 is thrown outilva dly by centrifugal, force and passed through the openings 3%} and 4:0 and into the spouts 4:2 and 43 through which it will fall onto the bearing portion 17 of the ring die to be crushed by the rollers 36 and 37 as the latter rotate.
It is manifest that portion of the material to be crushed will fall onto the platform 5 and into the space between the channel and bearing block 24. In order that this material may be conveyed to the bearing plate the shafts 34 and 35 are provided between the inner sides of the rollers and their inner ends with spiral conveyers 53 and 5%. These conveyers are fixedly secured to the shafts in any preferred manner, and it will be manifest as the shafts rotate that the ma terial falling on the bed 5 will, by the action of the conveyers be moved outwardly and onto the bearing portion 17 of the ring die, the said material first falling into the space. between the side wall of the channel and inner sides of the rollers from whence it will i be forced by new material being added into a position to be operated'upon by the rollers 36 and 37. i
It will be manifest that during the opera tion of. crushing more or less dust will rise as the material falls on the ring die or onto the platform 5. In order that this dust may be agitated and finally forced through the inner wall of screen wire fan blades 56 and 57 are. provided. These members are preferably formed of single pieces of sheet metal right triangular in contour and are secured in .inverted position to the outer sides of the portions 23 of'the hangers,'the said blades being suitably shaped to direct the dust through the inner wall 15 from whence it will pass either from the outer wall or downwardly into'the space between said walls and finally into the chute.
From the foregoing, it evident that I. have provided a device which is comparatively simple in structure and inexpensive to manufacture, embodying few parts and, these so arranged that the danger of derangement will be reduced to a minimum.
I claim y 1. In a crushing mill, a bed plate provided with a plurality of spaced vertical openings, a chute depending from the lower ends of said openings, a circular-plate positioned onv the upper side of the bed plate and at the outer sides of said openings, and
a second circular plate formed of a plurality of sections positioned between the adjacent ends of said openings and at the inner sides thereof, a ring die'positioned on' the upper face of-said bed plate and having a vertical portion provided with openings alining with the spaces between the adjacent ends of the sections of said inner wall, rollers positioned to operate on said bed plate, and means for rotating said rollers.

5. In a crushing mill, a bedplate, a ring die positioned on the upper face of said bed plate, a criishing roll adapted to travel around over the ring die, a bearing-shaft for said roller, and a conveye'r carried by the bearing shaft and adapted to travel over the 'bed plate.
6. In a crushing mill, a bed plate, a die. positioned upon the bed plate, shaft bear ings,ra shaft journaled therei'n, a crushing member carried by the shaft and adapted to.
