Abstract

A rearview mirror bracket includes a base unit, a fixing rod, a clamping member and an adjusting nut. The fixing rod includes a rod body, a connecting portion, a threaded portion and a mounting portion connected to an end of the rod body opposite to the threaded portion. The clamping member includes a clamping ring, which has a bend and two ends, each end having a through hole for the threaded portion to pass through, and the bend, the ends and the threaded portion jointly define an opening. The adjusting nut is screwed to the threaded portion and is located on a side of the clamping ring opposite to the rod body. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a first installation mode relative to a vehicle, the base unit is installed on a body of the vehicle. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a second installation mode, a rod of the vehicle passes through the opening and the clamping ring clamps the rod, thereby achieving the effect of being fixed to the vehicle in different ways.

Description

Rearview mirror bracket

The present invention relates to a bracket for mounting on a vehicle and for mounting a rearview mirror, and in particular to a rearview mirror bracket.

An existing automobile auxiliary mirror as disclosed in the TWM499341U new patent announcement includes a fixing unit for installation on an automobile, a connecting rod connected to the fixing unit, and an auxiliary mirror installed on the connecting rod. The automobile has a rearview mirror, and the rearview mirror has a frame and a lens disposed in the frame.

The fixing unit has a clamp and a clamping member disposed on the clamp. The connecting rod is connected to the clamp, and the auxiliary mirror is installed on the side of the connecting rod opposite to the clamp. By clamping the clamping member on the frame of the rearview mirror, the user can expand the rear view through the installation of the car auxiliary mirror.

However, the vehicle auxiliary mirror can only be used as an auxiliary mirror and is installed on the rearview mirror by clamping the frame. It cannot be directly installed on the vehicle as a rearview mirror alone, and its function is relatively simple.

Therefore, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a rearview mirror bracket that can solve at least one of the above-mentioned shortcomings.

Therefore, the rearview mirror bracket of the present invention is suitable for installation on a vehicle and for installing a rearview mirror. The vehicle includes a body and a support rod arranged on the body.

The rearview mirror bracket includes a base unit, a fixing rod, a clamping member, and an adjusting nut. The fixing rod includes a rod body, a connecting portion connected to one end of the rod body and for mounting the rearview mirror, a threaded portion connected to an end of the rod body opposite to the connecting portion, and a mounting portion connected to an end of the rod body opposite to the threaded portion and detachably mounted on the base unit. The clamping member includes a clamping ring, the clamping ring has a bent portion, and two end portions connected to two opposite ends of the bent portion, each end portion has a through hole for the threaded portion to movably penetrate, and the bent portion, the end portions and the threaded portion jointly define an opening. The adjusting nut is screwed into the threaded portion and is located on the side of the rod opposite to the clamping ring. The adjusting nut can be rotated to move along the threaded portion and tighten the ends to reduce the opening. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a first installation mode, the support rod passes through the opening and the clamping ring clamps the support rod. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a second installation mode, the base unit is installed on the vehicle body.

The utility of the present invention is that the base unit and the clamping ring can be fixed to the vehicle in two different ways depending on the modification requirements of the user, thereby increasing the breadth of use.

The present invention is described in detail below with reference to the attached figures and embodiments.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, an embodiment of the rearview mirror bracket of the present invention is suitable for installing a rearview mirror 7. The rearview mirror bracket includes a base unit 1, a fixing rod 2, a fixing screw 3, a clamping member 4, an adjusting nut 5, and a stop nut 6.

The base unit 1 includes an adapter 11 and a base body 12.

Referring to Figures 2 and 3, the adapter 11 has a base wall 111, a side wall 112 connected to the base wall 111, and two connecting walls 113 connected to the side of the side wall 112 opposite to the base wall 111. The base wall 111 has a through hole 114. Each connecting wall 113 has a mounting hole 115.

The seat body 12 has an inner circumferential surface 121 surrounding and defining a spline hole 122, and a plurality of strip grooves 123 formed on the inner circumferential surface 121. The spline hole 122 penetrates the seat body 12.

Referring to Figures 2 to 4, the fixing rod 2 includes a rod 21, a connecting portion 22 connected to one end of the rod 21, a threaded portion 23 connected to an end of the rod 21 opposite to the connecting portion 22, a mounting portion 24 connected to a side of the rod 21 opposite to the threaded portion 23, and a screw hole 25 extending from an end surface 241 of the mounting portion 24 opposite to the threaded portion 23 to the mounting portion 24 and the threaded portion 23.

The connecting portion 22 is a ball joint for rotatably mounting the rearview mirror 7. The outer diameter D1 of the mounting portion 24 is smaller than the outer diameter D2 of the threaded portion 23, so that the threaded portion 23 can reliably abut the seat body 12. The mounting portion 24 also has a plurality of spline teeth 242 located between the threaded portion 23 and the end surface 241 and surrounding the spline hole 122. The mounting portion 24 is movably and detachably inserted into the spline hole 122, and the spline teeth 242 are respectively embedded in the strip grooves 123, so that the mounting portion 24 cannot rotate relative to the seat body 12.

The fixing screw 3 passes through the through hole 114 of the base wall 111 and the spline hole 122 and is screwed into the screw hole 25. The mounting portion 24 is fixed to the base body 12, and the base body 12 is detachably mounted on the adapter 11.

The clamping member 4 includes a clamping ring 41 and a soft pad 42. The clamping ring 41 includes a bent portion 411 and two end portions 412 connected to opposite ends of the bent portion 411. Each end portion 412 has a through hole 413 for the threaded portion 23 to movably penetrate. The bent portion 411, the end portions 412 and the threaded portion 23 together define an opening 43. The soft pad 42 is U-shaped and arranged in the opening 43 and the threaded portion 23 penetrates the two opposite ends.

The adjusting nut 5 is screwed on the threaded portion 23 and is located on the side of the clamping ring 41 opposite to the rod 21. The stopping nut 6 is screwed on the threaded portion 23 and is located on the side of the clamping ring 41 opposite to the adjusting nut 5. The adjusting nut 5 can be rotated to move along the threaded portion 23 and cooperate with the stopping nut 6 to tighten the ends 412 to reduce the opening 43.

Referring to FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 , the rearview mirror bracket can be installed on a vehicle 8 and can be switched between a first installation mode and a second installation mode relative to the vehicle 8. The vehicle 8 is a car or a truck and has a body 81 and a support rod 82 installed on the body 81 (the connection portion between the support rod 82 and the body 81 is not shown in FIG. 5 ).

Referring to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 , when the rearview mirror bracket is in the first installation mode, the support rod 82 penetrates the opening 43, and the adjusting nut 5 and the blocking nut 6 cooperate to squeeze the ends 412, so that the clamping ring 41 and the soft pad 42 clamp the support rod 82, and the rearview mirror bracket can be fixed to the support rod 82. In this embodiment, the end of the support rod 82 opposite to the vehicle body 81 is connected to a main rearview mirror (not shown), so that the rearview mirror bracket can be used as an auxiliary mirror of the vehicle 8 after being fixed to the support rod 82 in combination with the rearview mirror 7. In other variations of this embodiment, the support rod 82 may also be a rod independently mounted on the vehicle body 81. In this case, the rearview mirror bracket is also fixed to the support rod 82 through the clamp ring 41, and then combined with the rearview mirror 7, it can be used as a rearview mirror of the vehicle 8 alone.

Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. 6 , when the rearview mirror bracket is in the second installation mode, the adapter 11 of the base unit 1 passes through the installation holes 115 of the connecting walls 113 through two bolts 9 to screw the connecting walls 113 to the vehicle body 81, and the rearview mirror bracket can be combined with the rearview mirror 7 to be used as the rearview mirror of the vehicle 8.

Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. 7 , in a variation of the present embodiment, the vehicle 8 ' is a motorcycle, and the vehicle body 81 ' has a faucet 83. When the rearview mirror bracket is changed to a third installation mode relative to the vehicle 8 ', the threaded portion 23 is screwed into the faucet 83, and the rearview mirror bracket can also be combined with the rearview mirror 7 to be used as the rearview mirror of the vehicle 8 '.

In summary, the rearview mirror bracket of the present invention can be fixed to the vehicle 8, 8' in three different ways according to the user's installation requirements through the adapter 11 of the base unit 1, the threaded portion 23 of the fixing rod 2, and the clamping ring 41. It has a wide range of applications and can indeed achieve the purpose of the present invention.

However, the above is only an example of the implementation of the present invention, and it cannot be used to limit the scope of the implementation of the present invention. All simple equivalent changes and modifications made according to the scope of the patent application of the present invention and the content of the patent specification are still within the scope of the patent of the present invention.

Claims (8)

A rearview mirror bracket is suitable for being installed on a vehicle and for mounting a rearview mirror. The vehicle includes a vehicle body and a support rod arranged on the vehicle body. The rearview mirror bracket comprises: a base unit, including an adapter for being installed on the vehicle body, and a seat body detachably mounted on the adapter body, the seat body having an inner peripheral surface surrounding and defining a spline hole, and a plurality of spline holes formed on the inner peripheral surface. a fixed rod, comprising a rod body, a connecting portion connected to one end of the rod body and for mounting the rearview mirror, a threaded portion connected to an end of the rod body opposite to the connecting portion, and a mounting portion connected to an end of the rod body opposite to the threaded portion and detachably mounted on the seat body of the base unit, the mounting portion being movably inserted into the spline hole and having a plurality of slots for respectively engaging the spline holes. The spline teeth of the equal-slot grooves prevent the mounting portion from rotating relative to the base body; a clamping member, including a clamping ring, the clamping ring has a bent portion, and two ends connected to two opposite ends of the bent portion, each end having a through hole for the threaded portion to movably pass through, the bent portion, the ends and the threaded portion jointly define an opening; and an adjusting nut screwed on the threaded portion The adjusting nut is located on the side of the rod opposite to the clamping ring. The adjusting nut can be rotated to move along the threaded portion and tighten the ends to reduce the opening. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a first installation mode relative to the vehicle, the support rod passes through the opening and the clamping ring clamps the support rod. When the rearview mirror bracket is in a second installation mode relative to the vehicle, the base unit is installed on the vehicle body. A rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1, wherein the mounting portion has an end surface opposite to the threaded portion, the fixing rod further includes a screw hole extending from the end surface to the mounting portion, the spline hole passes through the base, and the rearview mirror bracket further includes a fixing screw passing through the spline hole and screwed into the screw hole to fix the mounting portion to the base. A rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1, wherein the adapter has a base wall for mounting the base body, a side wall connected to the base wall, and two connecting walls connected to a side of the side wall opposite to the base wall and used for mounting on the vehicle body, and each connecting wall has a mounting hole. A rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1, wherein the outer diameter of the mounting portion is smaller than the outer diameter of the threaded portion. The rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1 further includes a stop nut threaded on the threaded portion and located on the side of the clamping ring opposite to the adjusting nut, and the stop nut can cooperate with the adjusting nut to tighten the ends to reduce the opening. A rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1, wherein the connecting portion is a ball joint. The rearview mirror bracket as described in claim 1, wherein the clamping member further includes a soft pad which is U-shaped and disposed at the opening and has two opposite ends penetrated by the threaded portion. As for the rearview mirror bracket described in claim 1, when it is in a third installation mode relative to the vehicle, the threaded portion is screwed to the vehicle body.
