A yarn feeder (1) for feeding a yarn (40) to a textile machine is provided with a housing (2) having a holder (2a), with a storage body (3) from which the yarn (40) is drawn off by the textile machine, and with a braking device for adjusting a yarn tension of the yarn (40). The braking device has a brake body (8) and an adjusting device for the brake body, wherein the brake body (8) can be pressed by the adjusting device against a clamping surface (3a) at the take-off end of the storage body (3). The adjusting device comprises at least one adjustment element and at least one outlet element, wherein the adjustment element is designed to be axially movable with respect to the holder (2a), and wherein the outlet element is provided with an inlet opening aligned with the brake body for guiding the yarn (40) coming from the brake body (8) in the direction of the textile machine.
