For example, when only the current position of the vehicle is displayed as the map element 220, the processor 106 may use the position as the center of the map part 222 and determine the range of the map part 222 based on a predetermined map scale. The predetermined map scale may be determined based on, for example, the resolution of the display 110. When there are multiple map elements 220 (for example, destinations and current vehicle positions), the processor 106 may determine the map part 222 so that all the map elements 220 are displayed in the map part 222. In some embodiments, the geometric center of the map element 220 may be used as the center of the map part 222. For example, the processor 106 may use the center point between the current vehicle position and the destination as the center of the map part 222.

In some embodiments, the map part 222 may additionally include a display of an information element 230 that indicates journey information, such as the distance to the destination, the estimated remaining time before arrival, and the current cost of the journey. Consistent with the content of the present application, the processor 106 can locate the information element in the display area 200 so that the information element 230 does not overlap with any avoidance elements including, for example, the map element 220 and the display elements 210-212. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may determine the shape and size of the information element 230 based on the amount of information to be included in the display. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may locate the information element 230 to the map element 220 based on the relative direction of the avoiding element. For example, the processor 106 may set the map element 220 as the origin of the coordinate system, and use the axes of the coordinate system to divide the display area 200 into four quadrants. The relative direction can be determined based on which quadrant the avoidance element is in. The information element 230 may be placed in a quadrant that is in a direction opposite to the direction of the avoiding element relative to the map element 220. Therefore, the information element 230 will not block the avoiding element.

According to the present application, the processor 106 can dynamically adjust the map part and various elements according to, for example, received updates or detected user interactions. In some embodiments, the terminal 100 may periodically (for example, every 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds) receive updates including, for example, the current location of the service vehicle and real-time traffic information. Based on the updated information, the processor 106 may update and refresh the display of the map portion 222 and the map element 220.

In some embodiments, the display element may have multiple states, and the state may change when the user interacts. For example, the size, position and/or shape of the display element can be changed between different states. According to an embodiment of the present application, FIGS. 2A and 2B show an exemplary display area of the changing display element 212 in the display area 200.

In some embodiments, the display element 212 can have two states. In the first state (as shown in FIG. 2A), the display element 212 is folded and only displays the photos of the driver and the license plate of the service vehicle. When the passenger touches the display element 212, the processor 106 may detect user interaction and adjust the display element to the second state accordingly. For example, in the second state, the display element 212 (shown in Figure 2B) can expand and display additional information, such as the driver’s name (for example, Jane Doe), the driver’s comment (for example, 4.9 stars in 5.0), And the number of journeys she provided services on the ride-hailing platform (for example, 1710 journeys). The number of trips indicates the driver’s experience and how often she provides transportation services. Likewise, the driver’s comments indicate the level of service she provides and the satisfaction level of the passengers. In some embodiments, when a carpool service is requested, the extended display element 212 may also display information related to the carpooler, for example, her name and the number of times she uses the carpool service.

As the display element 212 is expanded to display more information, the space occupied by the display element 212 in the display area 200 becomes larger. Consistent with the content of this application, the processor 106 can recognize the position and size of the display element 212 in the display area, and adjust other elements accordingly. For example, the processor 106 may adjust the scale of the map portion 222 or move the map portion 222 accordingly to display the same information in a smaller area outside the display element 212. The adjusted map portion 222 is shown as the map portion 224 in FIG. 2B. The processor 106 may position the map part 224 in the display area 200 so that the expanded display element 212 does not overlap with any one of the map element 220 and the information element 230. Therefore, the display element 212 will not block any information displayed by the map element 220 and the information element 230.

In some embodiments, after the passenger touches the display element 212 when it is in the second state, the display element 212 may be folded again and return to its first state (shown by FIG. 2A). Therefore, the processor 106 can restore the map part 224 including the map element 220 and the information element 230 back to the map part 222 in the first state. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may automatically adjust the display element 212 back to its first state after the display element 212 is in its second state for a critical period of time (for example, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds).

3A。3A and 3B show an exemplary display area 300 showing a changed map element 320 according to an embodiment of the present application. 3A and 3B show the map part 322, the display elements 310 and 312, the map element 320, and the information element 330 in the display area 300. As shown in FIG. 3A, a map portion 322 including the starting point of the journey, the destination of the journey, and the current position of the vehicle is displayed. The processor 106 may use the geometric centers of the three map elements as the center of the map part 322. In some embodiments, the user can interact with the map portion 322 by, for example, touching a vehicle icon or information element. For example, the user can touch the information element 330 in FIG. 3A. In response, the processor 106 may adjust the scale of the map portion 322 to zoom in on selected map elements including the destination of the journey and the current location of the vehicle. The adjusted map portion 324 is shown in FIG. 3B. Therefore, the processor 106 may only use the geometric center of the destination and the current position as the center of the map part 324, and determine the scale of the map part based on the remaining display area outside the display elements 210 and 212. In some embodiments, after a critical period (eg, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds), the display may automatically return from FIG. 3B to FIG. 3A.

FIG. 4 shows a flowchart of an exemplary method 400 consistent with the disclosed embodiment, and the exemplary method 400 is used to display map information in a display area on a terminal device. The method 400 may be implemented by the terminal device 100. The method 400 may include steps 402-414 as described below. It should be understood that some steps may be optional to perform the disclosure provided herein. In addition, some steps may be performed at the same time or in a different order from that shown in FIG. 4.

In step 402, the terminal device 100 may identify a display element in the display area 200, for example, the display element 210 or 212. In some embodiments, the display element 210 may be a frame displaying travel status information. For example, it can show that the service vehicle has taken a passenger and is currently on a journey to the passenger's destination. The display element 212 may be another frame that displays driver and vehicle information. The display elements can be positioned in different areas within the display area 200. In some embodiments, identifying the display element includes determining the shape, position, and size of the display element. For example, when the display element is a rectangular frame, its length and width can be determined. The display element can be positioned by its geometric center.

In step 404, the terminal device 100 may receive location information of a map element (for example, the map element 220). In some embodiments, the map element 220 may include the starting point of the journey, the destination of the journey, and the location of the current vehicle. The location information of the origin and destination of the journey can be included in the transportation service request. The current position of the vehicle can be measured by the onboard positioning system of the service vehicle. The communication interface 104 can periodically update and receive the position of the vehicle.

In step 406, the terminal device 100 may identify a map part, such as the map part 222, based on the location information. The map portion 222 may be a part of a map related to the ongoing journey. The map element 220 may be displayed at the top of the map part 222 to indicate the starting point, destination, and vehicle on the map. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may determine the scale and extent of the map portion 222 based on the location of the map element 220. For example, the processor 106 may determine the geometric center of the map element 220. For example, when the map element 220 only includes two positions of the current vehicle position and the destination, the processor 106 may use the center point between the current vehicle position and the destination as the geometric center. In some embodiments, geographic coordinates (eg, longitude and latitude of the location) may be determined for the geometric center and map element 220. Using the geographic coordinates, the processor 106 can locate the location on a pre-stored map, and retrieve the relevant part to be displayed in the display area 200.

In step 408, the map portion 222 may be positioned in the display area 200. In some embodiments, in order not to overlap with the display element, the processor may identify the map area outside the area covered by the display element. For example, a bounding box surrounding such a map area may be determined in the display area 200. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may determine the center of the map portion 222 and the center of the map area outside the area covered by the display elements 210-212, and the processor 106 may locate the map portion 222 such that the two centers are substantially Up close. For example, when only the current position of the vehicle is displayed as the map element 220, the processor 106 may use the position as the center of the map part 222. When there are multiple map elements 220 (for example, the destination and the current vehicle position), the processor 106 may use the geometric centers of all the map elements 220 as the center of the map part 222. In some embodiments, the map portion 222 may use an appropriate scale to fit the map area. In some embodiments, the map scale may be predetermined based on, for example, the resolution of the display 110. In some embodiments, the map scale may be adaptively determined based on the distance between the geometric center and the individual location of the map element 220 so that the map element 220 fits the map area.

412。In step 410, the terminal device 100 may determine whether the location of the map element 220 has changed. For example, the passenger may update the travel destination during the journey. As another example, during the journey, the vehicle position may be updated periodically, for example every 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds. If any such changes occur (step 410: yes), the method 400 will return to step 404 to update the map portion 222 based on the changes in the map elements. For example, the geometric center can be updated, and different parts of the map can be captured. Otherwise (step 410: No), the method 400 may proceed to step 412.

In step 412, the terminal device 100 may determine whether any display elements (for example, 210 or 212) have been changed. In some embodiments, the size, shape, and/or position of the display element can be changed. In some embodiments, the display element can change when receiving updated information or when the user interacts. For example, the display element 212 may have two states (as shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B): a first state, which is collapsed and only displays photos of the license plate of the driver and service vehicle, and a second state, which is expanded and displayed Additional information, such as the driver’s name (for example, Jane Doe), the driver’s comments (for example, 4.9 stars out of 5.0), the number of trips she provided services on the ride-hailing platform (for example, 1710 trips) and the rider Information (for example, the rider’s name and the number of times she used the rideshare service). The display element 212 may change between the two states when the user interacts (for example, the user touches the display element 212) or when some update is received.

If a change in the display element is detected (step 412: Yes), the method 400 will return to step 408 to adjust and/or reposition the map portion 222. The processor 106 may first determine how the display element change affects the area occupied by the display element. Then, the processor 106 can re-determine the map area available for the map portion 222 accordingly. Based on the determined map area, the map part 222 can be moved, zoomed in/out, or otherwise adjusted to fit the map area. The adjusted map part 222 becomes the map part 224. If no display element change is detected (step 412: No), the method 400 may proceed to step 414 to display the map information in the display area 200.

FIG. 5 shows a flowchart of another exemplary method 500 for displaying map information in a display area on a terminal device consistent with the disclosed embodiment. The method 500 may be implemented by the terminal device 100. Method 500 may include steps 502-514 as described below. It should be understood that some steps may be optional to perform the disclosure provided herein. In addition, some steps may be performed simultaneously or in a different order from that shown in FIG. 5.

The method 500 may specifically involve a process of locating an information element (for example, the information element 230) related to the map element in the display area 200. In some embodiments, the information element may be a box that displays the information element 230, such as the distance to the destination, the estimated remaining time before arrival, and the current travel cost. The content of this application is consistent. The processor 106 can position the information elements 230 in the display area 200 so that they do not overlap with any avoiding elements. Avoidance elements may include, but are not limited to, other map elements, display elements, information elements, etc. that should be avoided.

In step 502, the terminal device 100 may determine the location of the map element (for example, the map element 220) in the display area 200. In some embodiments, the location of the map element 220 (eg, the current location of the vehicle) may be updated periodically, for example, every 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds.

In step 504, the terminal device 100 may search for avoidance elements near the map element. In some embodiments, the search area may be within a predetermined distance from the map element 220. For example, the search area may be a circular area within a predetermined radius from the location of the map element 220. In some embodiments, objects that meet predetermined search criteria may be identified as avoidance elements. For example, the predetermined search criteria may include shape (for example, rectangle, square, oval, or circle) or size (for example, an area greater than 3 square millimeters or 5 square millimeters).

In step 506, the terminal device 100 may determine the geometric feature of the information element related to the map element. For example, based on the amount of information to be included in the display, the terminal device 100 can determine the shape and size of the information element 230. In some embodiments, the size of the information element can be determined (for example, if the information element is a circle, the size is a radius, or if the information element is a rectangle, the length and width).

In step 508, the terminal device 100 may determine the direction of the avoiding element relative to the map element 220 associated with the avoiding element. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may set the map element 220 as the origin of the coordinate system, and use the axes of the coordinate system to divide the display area 200 into four quadrants (for example, quadrants I, II, III, and IV). The relative direction can be determined based on which quadrant the avoidance element is in. For example, if the avoiding element is in quadrant I (upper left quadrant), it is the northwest direction of the map element.

In step 510, the terminal device 100 may determine the distance between the map element 220 and the information element 230. In some embodiments, the processor 106 may first determine the geometric center of the information element 230, and then determine the distance between the map element 220 and the geometric center. In step 512, the terminal device 100 may determine the distance between the avoidance element and the information element 230. Similarly, the processor 106 may first determine the geometric center of the information element 230 and the geometric center of the avoiding element, and then determine the distance between the two geometric centers.

In step 514, the terminal device 100 may locate the information element 230 in the display area 200. In some embodiments, the terminal device 100 may position the information element 230 in a direction relative to the map element, which is substantially opposite to the relative direction of the avoiding element determined in step 508. For example, if the avoiding element is in quadrant I, the terminal device 100 can position the information element 230 in quadrant III relative to the map element 220.

15mm。In some embodiments, as part of step 514, the terminal device 100 may locate the information element 230 so that the distance between the map element and the information element (as determined in step 510) is lower than the first critical distance, and the avoidance element The distance from the information element (as determined in step 512) is lower than the second critical distance. The first and second critical distances may be, for example, 5 mm, 10 mm, or 15 mm.
