Abstract

In a multilayer type piezoelectric transformer, the present invention prevents the deterioration of characteristics and mechanical strength caused by the separation of a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic material layers in areas where the piezoelectric ceramic material layers overlap a plurality of driving electrodes. Driving electrodes located inside a laminated element made up of a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic material layers are formed like a mesh or stripes to provide the driving electrodes with a plurality of pierced portions through which the piezoelectric ceramic material layers located on both sides of the driving electrodes can be joined to each other at a plurality of locations.
