Abstract

There is provided an image sensor, wherein the stress is not generated in a line-illuminating device or a frame even when there is a heat expansion difference or a heat shrinkage difference between the line lighting device and the frame, and the image sensor doesn't generate any disadvantage such as warps. The image sensor in accordance with the present invention comprises a line-illuminating device for illuminating a document, a light-receiving element array for receiving a reflected light from the illuminated document, a lens array for focusing the reflected light from the illuminated document on the light-receiving element array, a frame for containing the line-illuminating device, the lens array and the light-receiving element array, and an elastic supporting portion for pressing the line-illuminating device contained in the frame to the frame.
