Abstract

To provide a connector which can attain a reduced height, and can attain further miniaturization thereof by reducing the area occupied by the connector. The connector includes a connector body to which a cable is removably inserted; a contact which is retained in the connector body, said contact having (i) a support member and spring member, which extend in the insertion/removal direction of the cable, and (ii) a connection portion which mutually connects the support member with the spring member; and an operator member which is rotatable with respect to the connector body; wherein the operator member is provided with a cam portion which is arranged so as to abut against the spring portion between an end portion of the support member, or an end portion of the spring member, and the connection portion, and presses the spring member toward the support member via rotation of the operator member; and wherein the end portion of the support member, or the end portion of the spring member, electrically contacts the cable by rotating the operator member so as to resiliently displace the spring member toward the support member.
