Abstract

The female terminal (1) is composed of two parts, main body (2) and reinforcement (3). In the front end of the main body (2), there is an opening (10) through which a tab (male type terminal) (80) is inserted, and a contact spring (34) is arranged in the opening (10). In the back end of the main body (2), crimping portion (6, 8) for connecting with an electric wire (150) is formed. The reinforcement (3) has a support spring (38). So that the spring (38) supports the contact spring (34) to keep contact pressure when the contact spring (34) is warped by having received the tab terminal (80). This structure controls fretting corrosion without increasing the operation force. Therefore, this structure prevents also damage due to aslant insertion of the tab terminal (80).
