Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of monitoring hydrological environment by use of movable marine geographic information system and system using the same, more particularly, to a system for monitoring the development of hydrological contamination by use of data communication technologies with a carrier(such as boat); when a contamination event happens offshore, the global positioning system (GPS) on the carrier may calculate and determine the location and time frame data of the contamination source; in addition, single chip technology is applied to integrate the items recorded by digital detectors, and the integrated data are then transmitted back through a radio transmission system; the data is then processed and integrated so as to produce the environmental monitoring information, followed by the decision and judgment made by the marine geographic information system (MGIS).
